I just received Black Narcissus BD from Amazon UK today and it was not shrinkwrapped or anything while the other discs in the order were wrapped like I am used to them being from Amazon UK. I am just wondering if your disc came with any inserts or anything at all because mine has nothing in it at all. I have not really seen too many BDs (if any) with inserts but I am a bit more curious because the box that my discs arrived in was open at the bottom and they were sticking out a bit.

Thanks.

The BD does not come with insert Amon. None of ITV BDs do.

Thanks. That's what I thought, but was worried something was missing since my package was open....

No need to worry. Actually, just like Amazon treats DVDs from a lot of labels you will see BDs coming to you without shrink-wrap.

If Leon comes with an English Audio track I'll have to import it. I can't imagine it getting released out here for a while.

Leon is supposed to be released here sometime soon. It was mentioned in the announcements thread. I'll import it if it's the director's cut, region free, and the subtitles aren't forced.

Forced subtitles are very irksome to me. I'm just wondering - does it cost more to make subtitles removable? I can understand a non-English company not springing for English subs, but would it kill them to just make the subs optional on English-language films?

In some cases I wonder if the subtitles are already forced on the print they are transferring from, meaning they will be "forced" no matter what.

If it plays in Region 1 and has an English track (and no American release in sight) I'll order that. Going to do the same for Gremlins and Goonies as well.

At a mastering level it doesn't, but the rights might be more expensive if you were to buy a French film and release it before it has been released in France if you don't include non-removable subs.

Even if they're region coded, Hong Kong is in the same region as the US.

SPL is definately region free, not sure about Three Kingdoms but Josh is absolutely correct and it wouldn't be an issue for you unless you lived in Europe.

Alain Corneau's remake of Melville's classic LE DEUXIEME SOUFFLE a.k.a Second Wind (2006) is set to be released on Blu-ray in France/Monaco on November 27th. Nominated for 3 Cesars. Preliminary specs indicate lack of English subs (similar to the SDVD)
