Well got my third and final set finally. Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix up for trade if anyone is interested. Will trade for just about anything I don't have.

Got a set today:

Italian Job
Riddick
Blood Diamond
Alexander
Smokin' Aces

Since the only 3 of the original 5 I really wanted were Darkman, The Thing and The Frighteners, as soon as I saw this thread I went ahead and just bought them. The only one of the bunch I did get I'm not thrilled with was Riddick, but for free I can live with it.

Now, awaiting my second batch.

Submitted my paperwork in early November (via priority mail with delivery confirmation no less). Was told in February that they had no record of my submission and I could resubmit. I didn't because I can't recall where I put my copies, etc. Plus that was right around the time HD-DVD died.

Today I received a postcard acknowledging my submission and saying due to "overwhelming" demand mine should ship no later than Sept 1, 2008. Almost a year later!!!!

They're sending all of their remaining inventory to places like inetvideo.com, but not to consumers who submitted valid requests under an existing promotion. Makes perfect sense.

Got mine today. I sent it in sometime in February ($50 360 add-on).

I forget what I asked for. I got absolutely nothing that I wanted.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - already have
Billy Madison - have on order
Next - already have
Miami Vice
Children of Men

I was beginning to worry as I've been seeing here that people submitted right before the deadline and received before me, but I got my set on Saturday:

Billy Madison
Charlie & The Chocolate Factory
Miami Vice
Troy DC
Italian Job

I'd love to trade Billy Madison and Charlie & The Chocolate Factory with someone for something else!

Intvideo.com has mostly Canadian discs, not ones that would be apart of the US rebate program.

I received a similar postcard yesterday (06/09/08) acknowledging my submission and due to "overwhelming" demand not to expect anything before 09/01/08.

Ditto on the postcard today.

I really only bought the player thinking it would give me a few HD discs for when I bought an HDTV. Missing out on this, not being able to place an order on inetvideo.. guess I can keep using excuses to postpone that purchase for another little while longer.

I wouldn't doubt. Why give them away free when you can still get some money for them?

Add me to the postcard list as well.

At this point, the whole situation is laughable. If there was that much "overwhelming demand" then you'd think that they could have held the format together a bit longer...

Damn, I hope I don't get a postcard. I also mailed in November 2007 (long story), and a rep said a week ago that my order was processing and would re-ship soon.

9/01/08 would be considered "soon" to some people ... just a blink-of-an-eye in geologic time frames

Blah, I got the same postcard yesterday after calling about 2 months ago and asking on the progress of it. Told me I would get the movies I asked for but looking at everyone elses responses I probably won't get any of them. Knowing my luck, I'll probably get movies I already own.

I figured even though postcards were mailed out we would still receive them like normal. I expect mine fairly soon. Some people mailed them out on the last day possible (like me) and got them today. I have 3 outstanding orders and 3 postcards...

So I got the postcard and the movies on the same day - today. LOL I had requested these titles in late February -
U2, Full Metal Jacket. Pitch Black, Darkman and Babel. I received U2. Full Metal Jacket (original version), Children Of Men, Four Brothers, and Smokin' Aces. Oh well, at least they were free and I didn't receive any titles I had purchased recently. It would have been nice to get Transformers as a substitute.

Awesome! That gives me hope I'll see mine soon then.
