I'm with you there. Submitted my original on 8/19, received the post card about a month ago saying they would ship 11/25. Still waiting, patiently

I know this is for the hd deal. I sent in my bluray offer. Anyone do that as well? Maybe I'll get lucky and get the movies before the new indiana jones hits theatres. Seems like this is a very slow process whereas most rebate deal/special offers are.

I got my Blu-rays last week and I had sent them in a month after I sent away for the HD-DVDs. I called Toshiba yesterday and they told me they had shipped. So, all's good.

Regarding the Blu-ray, one of my choices was The Italian Job but being that it was a Paramount title I guess they didn't/couldn't give any away. I got "it's a phenomenon known as deja vu, it's a phenomenon known as deja vu" instead. Oh well, I like Denzel Washington and Val Kilmer.

Got my Blu-Rays today. Thank God I haven't sent my new HD-DVD rebate in yet : The title I was most excited about getting - Black Rain (I'm a big Ridley Scott fan) wasn't included! They sent a note saying "We sincerely apologize for the delay in getting you your 5 free movies. Unfortunately, one of the movies you had selected was no longer available. We have replaced that selection with another Blu-ray movie and hope that you will enjoy it as well". They included Click instead!
As much as that sucks (which is a LOT), at least I still have time to get it from the current HD DVD promo instead. Wasn't that excited about getting Darkman, so I guess it works out okay for me.

Still haven't got mine from the beginning of September. Just called and they said it was in processing, and might be a few more weeks. But it says I was approved, so that's a good sign.

I think it's completely insane for any type of rebate to take so long. This is 2007 not 1997. It should be a month or less. Anything more is bullshit. For this reason, I almost never buy things that offer rebates. If it's no tinstant savings, it's not worth it to me. The fact the player price was good to begin with and Amazon is sending me some free movies instantly is the only reason I bought now. The 5 movies by MIR is just a bonus, in this case.

I agree. I never buy into rebates nor was the 5 free movies a factor in my decision to buy a player.

I somewhat disagree. Yes, they should have their shit together in terms of setting them out. However, the movies offered in the MIR are movies I'd probably never, ever buy anyway. So, they are just an added bonus in purchasing a player.

To paraphrase Superbad, replacing an underrated Ridley Scott action movie (with a great Michael Douglas performance to boot) with a diarrheal Adam Sandler effort is like slapping God in the face.

Still have not received anything. There's no number on my post card, can anyone supply it so I can call and see what's happening with my order?

I just received mine today. I also sent the rebate in early September, so I'd imagine you were in the batch which should be getting them this week.

Damn it. I meant early October (purchased the HD DVD player on 9-28--as DVD P checks his receipts). Sorry. Actually, that means it might be better for you.

Hmm...Still, I don't know if anyone has gotten the HD DVDs from the newer promotion with a better selection.

I got Aeon Flux, Frighteners, Hulk, Black Rain, and Swordfish. I have the other titles, so I picked a few I normally wouldn't get.

Just got back my rebate submission for the 5 HD-DVD from Sears, unopened, stamped "Receiving Dept. PO Box Close"!

I plan on calling tomorrow to see what's up.

Added: Since the phone number they give is for people who haven't gotten their HD-DVDs after 8-10 weeks, the guy I talked to only had information on the previous offer (Casablanca, Blazing Saddles, etc.) Guess I'll forego TMNT and just send in the regular form.

I got a letter today (well my neighbor did) from Toshiba stating:

Thank you for participating in the Toshiba Free 5 DVDs Offer Spring '07 Offer. We are unable to process your request because:

The date on the sales receipt is invalid. The cash register receipt you submitted with your request is not within the dates specified by the offer requirements.
And it goes on about complying and all that.

Well, I looked at the form I sent and it says purchases between 10/1/07 - 2/28/08 and my receipt that I sent them says 11/2/07.

Anyone know who I can call about this because this is complete BS.

Edit: I figured out the problem... While I circled the price on the receipt, I forgot to do the same for the date. Grrr. Guess I'll send it in again.
