Some preliminary shots for the supposedly upcoming DENON Blu player...

I can barely even picture how that think would look, and I'm looking at the picture.
Looks kinda cool. Good news for Blu. |
I'm with ya. Looks like an alarm clock.
|
That certainly looks pretty...
for a garbage bin. [runs away from thread] ;) |
Where's the center speaker?

With Blu-Ray you don't need one! |
"Captain's Log, Star Date Blah Blah Blah. Number 2, let's take it up to -25db".
Seriously, I fell like I need a license to operate that thing. |
Well that should be about $4k or so. So Onkyo to HD-DVD, Denon to BD. Not unexpected.
|
Nice to have Denon on board, but hopefully they'll put out a component-like version as well.
|
I love my current Denon equipment, but that's just hideous. With those curved designs, how are you supposed to stack these with your other components?
I hope that's just concept art and not finalized. Looks like the goofy "futuristic" concept cars that auto manufacturers display at trade shows every year before announcing their real models. The person who'd buy that would also want one of these. http://adminpick.com/wp-content/uplo...tmobile_12.jpg |
Yeah, these weird designs are certainly not my cup of tea either. Just give me a nice black box with those round foot disc things under and I'm happy.

Read the fine print - "Blu-ray DVD player." So which is it?

Yeah, I got that. Using the term "Blu-ray DVD player" would be considered inappropriate, as the correct reference is "Blu-ray Disk player." I thought that would be obvious. I'll try to be more clear next time....

Anyway, yeah, you don't really want to stack your components if you can help it. I believe the PS3 was designed with the curve on top to prevent just that. |
that's some seriously ugly home theater equipment.
|
"ITunes Music Store Direct Connection" makes me weep.
Goes to show how little people care about sound quality by adding an option like this. Ironic that they add this option to higher end equipment that's supposed to get you better quality sound - just so you have the ability to play crappy sounding compressed MP3s. |

Well that is one Denon product I won't be buying.
|
Is that a slot loader? Has Denon used those before?
|
Well, I was waiting to see what Denon would do, maybe it will be great, but it is ugly. Why does everyone think they have to be different. I just want a normal clean looking black component to go in my AV rack. Oh, and I completly agree that having iTunes on a high end peice of equipment is funny. It is kind of like wanting to run E85 in a race car.
|
That thing is horrible looking. Eh, whatever floats Denon's boat. More than meets the eye, Blu-ray in disguise.
