Toshiba HD-A20 1080p HD DVD Player at Amazon for 300.88

I didn't see this posted so I thought I would add it. It's a better deal than the 1080i model for 250.00.

Here is the link:

Unless you need the better upconversion, this is not a better deal than the 1080i version. The deinterlacer in this is really no better than those found in 1080p TV's.

It's $334.80 from Amazon. The $300.88 price is sold by Electronics Expo and you'll have to pay for shipping.

So you are saying that you only need a 1080i player if you have a 1080p set? Then why do they make both?

If your display has a quality deinterlacer, then there is no need for 1080p player, your display will do it. The issue is that not every display has a quality deinterlacer.

Is there a list somewhere saying which sets do/don't have a quality deinterlacer? Thanks!!! I guess for another 50 bucks it wouldn't hurt to just buy a 1080P HD player.

I can't think of a single 1080p set currently on the market that doesn't have deinterlacing capabilities at least matching the A20.
