Guess I will wait a bit longer to throw my hat into the HD ring. |

I'd rather watch Pan's Labyrinth in SD than Matrix Reloaded in HD. That's why I'm not buying any of the sets. Only the first Matrix movie exists for me now. |

I am considering taking the plunge though with this newest deal. My nicest DVD player is near 5 years old and is the famed mid-grade level Denon 1600. My HDTV is over 5 years old as well and doesn't even have DVI much less HDMI. No plans to get a new HDTV (at least not a huge one to replace my 65") anytime soon unless my current one dies. I know this is probably the wrong thread to ask this but would I really see that much of a difference in my standard dvds that I currently own? |

While reloaded and revolutions are not that great, you can't argue that the car chase scene in reloaded is very cool and an awesome demo sequence. The mechs at the end of revolutions are pretty cool too.

Thanks for the pic, I was looking for one last night and could not find it. I am glad I went ahead and preordered now. Hopefully amazon will ship it Monday so I can have it Tuesday.
|
The set looks pretty good so far. I havn't kept up with the releases so I was shocked at the ad inside. Looking forward to Bladerunner in October, and the Kubrick collection as well.

Does anyone know if Best Buy (or any other stores) will have a better price on this than amazon's $64?
|
I was hoping they would update the covers, I love these flicks, part 3 is the weakest but the action scenes are still top notch. I love the first and second flicks.
|
I was supposed to have received mine from WHV on Friday, but UPS had a problem and won't get it until Monday. It seems a "natural disaster" delayed the box somewhere between CA and me. I had a whole weekend planned out, too! :(

Has anyone watched the set yet? I'm curious is anyone noticed pixelation in the sky in the scene where Agent Smith tries to mow down Trinity in a garbage truck at the beginning. The shot where the three agents are looking down at the remains of the telephone booth has some pretty nasty image break-up and I'm wondering if anyone else sees it on their TVs.

Why did they make the discs in the Ultimate collection dual-sided, but now I'm reading that the Complete collection doesn't have dual-sided discs, but the content is the same for each film plus its extras per disc?

I'm all over this. Can't wait.
|
I'll probably just pick up the complete collection and skip on the ultimate version. I already own the boxed set on standard DVD, and I really can't see myself owning The Animatrix three times.

But, I've almost talked myself into the ultimate set for $10 more, and then just sell off the SD Ultimate set with the Neo bust. Ack!
|
Considering that there are no new features exclusive to the Ultimate Collection, and all the discs are dual-sided, whereas in the Complete they have disc artwork, I would recommend buying the Complete and keeping the Ultimate set with bust.
|
Already own the Ultimate DVD set with the bust. Ordered the Complete HD-DVD set.
Unless the package is super cool, I think I may switch out the DVD with the HD-DVD in the box itself. |
Also, everyone who owns an XBOX 360 should know they have put all three trailers up in HD, as well as a few clips from the movies. All 720p. Check it out through the Clips section in Videos.
|
I really do like having disc artwork on one side, too. Just never did like dual-sided discs.
