So you mean that pretty much every review on this site that includes DTS HD is wrong? And don't people say DTS sounds better on dvds because they "sweeten" the sound somehow? |

"The movie's soundtrack is provided in lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 format. Unfortunately, at the time of this writing no Blu-ray hardware is capable of properly decoding the full Master Audio lossless codec. Instead, players extract the lossy DTS core, which is equivalent to DVD quality. It still sounds very good, but may offer further improvements when advanced hardware is released in the future." |

Unless you've gone to the trouble of comparing the raw data yourself, please stop spreading FUD. Unfortunately, there aren't enough comparisons except for the Departed to make a decision on which one is better if any. Have you been able to do a comparison yourself on the Departed HD-DVD vs the BD version? So far the reviews that I've read have stated that the uncompressed track was slightly better, but everyone keeps saying "The volume was different" or "There ears are different. I guess it would take a double blind test of audiophiles to ever truly find out which one is indeed better. |

Wow. From what I have read from Amir, I can't imagine a more baseless mischaracterization. |

Having MET Amir, I can't imagine a more baseless mischaracterization. It seems like anyone who is even remotely a BD fanboy loves to crap all over him. |
I could name at least 20 AVS BD-fanatics who fit that bill easily.

Sony has annouced new receivers due out in the coming weeks. http://news.sel.sony.com/en/press_ro...ase/28268.html
The presee release talks about HD 1080p support over HDMI but does not clearly state the received will accept or decode Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD. Is just says they will support HD Audio. Is it safe to assume they will? |
("BD50 will never see the light of day"
Maybe he meant never see the light of day the same way dvd never really "never seen the light of day" when it came to dual sided dual layer dvds. As for me and the audio, oh I dont know nm its late lol. |
