Does HD hurt anyones eyes ever?

I have two HD TV's. One is a 55" Mits RPTV and the other is a 26" HP LCD. Anyways, I have the 360 HD-DVD hooked up to the 55" and a PS3 hooked up the the LCD one (HDMI on this).

Anyways, I watched Crank last night in Blu-Ray on the 26" and it almost hurt my eyes it seemed so clear. Not sure if it's a TV settings thing, or it's just THAT clear and I have to get used to it on LCD.

HD-DVD on the 55" is no problem at all like the one above.

Just curious. Does size matter? ;)

Are your TVs calibrated?

May be that you have your settings/brightness too high.

That's all I got.

I often weep at the beauty of it but other than that, nothing.

My eyes only hurt when I go back to regular DVD.

I was over at my buddy's house last night and he turned on King Kong on HBO HD and I was impressed with it at first, but then it kept distracting me because it was so bright. I think alot of people keep the brightness setting too high. I have a 57 RPTV HDTV and it is not nearly as bright by default as most of LCD sets, plus I have tweaked on it a little and made even darker. You probably just need to adjust the LCD a little bit. That bright look is great for sports, but for me it does not work for movies. I am about to order DVE HD-DVD so I can really pinpoint and correct the problems in settings. You may consider doing that as well so you can get both sets on the same page so to speak.

Thanks...I will check the settings for my LCD. I guess I'm used to my RPTV. I'll try messing around with it again....the settings are not robust on it, if I recall correctly.

I know my tv has a seperate setting thst adjusts the brightness of certain scenes so you dont get blinded, such as a snow scene

LCD screens can be put in almost a torch mode that are so bright they kill your eyes. Stores do this all the time. Definitely adjust your brightness and contrast with a disc like DVE.

Your contrast is probably way too high.
