It's around $35 at xploitedcinema and a bit cheaper at HMV to import. Should I get it or wait and pay $25 for the Criterion SD-DVD?

For $35 you can get 3 HD DVDs from buy.com, it's hard for me to spend more than $20 on 1 movie

I got it for just under 30 bucks shipped at SendIt.com. I've only had time to go through the first 20 minutes of the movie, but it looks pretty good and the DTS HD-MA audio is sweet. I hope at some point Toshiba offers a firmware update that'll decode those tracks.

As for whether or not it's worth it, if you like the movie and value video/audio quality over extras, go for it. About the only other advantage I could see the Criterion having is more accurate subtitles.

On a side note, the case the UK La Haine is packaged in is thicker than normal HD-DVD cases. About 1 1/2 times the normal width.

Yeah, that's the one. They had the wrong item pictured when I ordered it, but it's the correct one.

As for how long it took, I ordered it on 1/22 and received it on 2/2.

I ordered it since it's never been released here domestically to rent. However Criterion has announced it for later this year on SD at least.

I received my copy today. Took about a week. Awesome PQ, this might be my new favorite HD DVD!
