Anyone bought used BD or HD discs? From where?

I've read in other forums that people been buying used online from Amazon, and an online shop from Canada. Some mentioned from Game stores. My ques to DVDtalkers is if you have had any luck finding and/or buying used and was it worth it money wise and condition wise, and from where? Thanks

Didn't we just have a thread about this? Or was that a part of the bargains thread?

You're either looking on ebay, craigslist or forums like this. Neither format is well-purchased enough to warrant widespread used disc sales.

I've bumped into some HD and BD used discs in EB Games/Gamestop. They've been very cheap the couple times i've seen them, all of them were around $12.99. I have everything I've seen there, but Serenity HD, King Kong HD, Talledega Nights BD, 5th Element BD, X-Men 3 BD, and Swordfish HD are some that I can remember.

No point in buying used when you can get brand new ones for under $14.

I bought a used Elephant Man off ebay, disc was mint, a spoke in the case was broken off, though. It was an import, all the HD DVDs that aren't combos and all the Blu Rays are cheaper with GCO.
HD DVD/Blu Ray enthusists are generally going to be the type of people who take good care of their discs, though.

Where?

Found some used HD's at a couple of Gamestops. Pricing is a little off, some $19.99 dvd's like Batman Begins and Sleepy Hollow were $17.99. Combo discs were also $17.99. Picked up Superman Returns.

Well, I'm not sure of any other used suggestions that havn't been mentioned, but used prices are still pretty high on most sites as well.

The best deals I have seen, sans Google Checkout deals of course, have been watching Mjentertainment.net for them to get new discs in. They are usually around $14-$16

Thats not bad at all DthRdrX.

I found Troy and Million Dollar Baby HD-DVDs at an ebgames. The best part was that they were priced the same as their DVD versions, so you can get some great deals if lucky enough to find any there.

Why stop short of telling us where? You know that people are going to ask you this.

This is just a one-time shot though. I see people saying they haven't paid over $15 for a (new) disc yet, how is that possible?

And in regards to the OP, my local CD Warehouse is selling used HD DVDs for $12.99-$14.99.

Most likely through $10 off $10 for "'new' customers only."

I've used Google Checkout 7 times now. Great deals. Paid about $11 each for 4 HD DVDs. As for the rest, Jarhead was about $7 and Miami Vice (combo disc, bleh) and King Kong (bare bones non combo for $30??) were about $20 each.

Anyone know if their local Wherehouse stores now have used BD discs? Or Amoeba in Hollywood for good deals?

stingermck 02-05-07 08:10 PM

I found some at Movie Stop over the weekend. Got Phantom of the Opera for $15, then 10% off with edge card

egy971 02-05-07 08:19 PM

I saw some used Blu-ray and HD DVD movies at GameStop yesterday. Most were $17.99, but I saw some (King Kong HD DVD, retail version) for $12.99.

DVDKrayzie 02-06-07 12:57 AM

got the big hit BR for $13.50 today at gamestop.
