True Lies and the Abyss are being held up because Cameron has too much fucking control over them. Fox should've released them ages ago.
Pissing me off so many Stephen King movies are out on BD, but not Storm of the Century. We're still stuck with the fucking flipper DVD.

I KNOW! The movies most in need of BD upgrade are the ones we never fucking get. Bridge of Dragons is another one. Old Dolph Lungren classic. Shitty 1.33 DVD only. I think Bats was matted shit too. No Escape (1994?) at least got released in Australia.

I wanted to show my kids Armegeddon over the summer. Grabbed the only disc I had... the CC DVD from back in the day. Pop it in and realize it was non-anamorphic. Nope. Nope. Nope. Couldn't eject that disc fast enough.
Still boggles the mind that studios put out any non-anamorphic releases.

True Lies was supposed to receive the Five Star treatment about 6 months after the initial release. In the DVD only days those were actually pretty nice special editions. Never happened. Got rid of my DVD ages ago when a BR seemed imminent. Being non-anamorphic probably wouldn't watch it much any. I put in the original Planet of The Apes, quickly discovered it was non-anamorphic. Watched it one more time then I'll dispose of the disc. That movie has sentimental value to me since my father took me to the movies to that and POTA II. The movie is rather dated now so I don't really need to own it.

Oh, another one that pisses me off... This is the 25th anniversary of Only the Strong. No BD. Not even a widescreen DVD, if I remember right.

Yeah, I've got quite a list like that too. Snake Eater trilogy comes to mind. I'm not sure any of Lorenzo Lamas' work has made it to BD. Eddie Murphy is being ignored for some reason too. There's still no Anamorphic release of Another 48 Hours.

Into the Grizzly Maze was made in 2015. How the fuck did it not get a BD release!?!? There's apparently one in AU, but the runtime is much less so it was fucking cut. Assholes shouldn't be able to butcher movies like that. Release the whole thing or don't fucking release it. I find it odd that producers like Richard Donner can raise hell about an unauthorized extended cut of his movies but butchering a work of art to please censors in other countries and for network TV is perfectly fine.

I bit the bullet last year and bought the France version of Open Range from Amazon. I think it was around $16, but it's region free and looks and sounds awesome. It's the only import title in my collection, but totally worth not waiting any longer.

Goddamn this shit annoys me. Every Stephen King movie gets release din HD except the one that really needs it. Will we be forever be stuck with a shitty double sided DVD of Storm of the Century? Now it looks like Warner Archive is releasing Tarzan movies...but not Tarzan and the Lost City. Ugh.
I recently heard that the French disc of Open Range is region free. Naturally, I bought the fucking German one. Haven't had good luck with Amazon.fr anyway, though.

Why can’t we get Run with Patrick Dempsey? You’d think with his popularity with Grey’s we’d get something, but I can’t get nowhere...

I fear I might have to wait until Sidney has passed before Disney gets off their butts and gives us an HD version - it's not even on streaming (as far as I know) - just low-quality DVD.

I got the German copy of Open Range as well. Sounds great with Dolby 6.1 soundtrack. Picture quality is excellent, imo.
Also, I'd like The Americans to get a complete set on blu-ray.

Re: Your Blu-ray wish list / "When will _______ be on Blu-ray?"
Trilogy of Terror II has been a nightmare. We were told there were 25 cartons that we needed to scan, but later on we found out one of the boxes was lost. So what we ended up with is a mostly restored TOT II with some missing scenes. To complete the film for our BD release, we had to pull those scenes from the SD master and do an UpRes. In hindsight, we would've saved the time and money for something else.
Storm of the Century would be this times 4, 4 times the scanning, 4 times the cost and so one. We're porting over the audio commentary by the director from the previous release for our DVD release. There won't be any differences between the two releases, it's a great catalog titles that we're making available again.

What's that mean? They're doing a release of some kind? I don't care if they put an SD upscale on a BD. I just want the movie on ONE forking disc that's NOT double forking sided like Warner's shirty release. You know. What Warner Archive should've done years ago.
