The Last American Virgin is a favorite of mine and I was excited to see it released on Blu-Ray, but unfortunately only on Region B. Darn them!

While You Were Sleeping We love this movie and watch it every year. Even though its not a traditional Christmas movie we still pull it out with the holiday favorites.
This has been released in Australia. Not sure why anyone would not want to get this to the US

Last year Purple Noon was restored and released by Criterion on Blu-ray. Now I'm waiting for its kinda sorta not really sequel The American Friend to get the same treatment. Other movies by Wim Wenders have gotten the Criterion treatment: Paris Texas, Wings of Desire, and Pina. If The American Friend isn't next, I'm going to scream.
And where the fuck is Topkapi? Your only option is an out-of-print DVD.

I'd still like to see Kindergarten Cop on Blu-ray. Not the best Schwarzenegger film by a long shot but it's one I've always really enjoyed and would definitely pick up if it were put out.

It's about to hit 2014 and we still don't have Seinfeld on Blu-ray, even though the entire series has had sparkling new HD transfers struck for syndication. It smells like Sony is holding back on a Blu-ray release to prop up the syndicated ratings. I have to believe we'll see it by 2015.

Re: Your Blu-ray wish list / "When will _______ be on Blu-ray?"
I was taking a look at my library today, examining what I still want and need to upgrade from DVD to blu-ray... At the top of that list, Antitrust (2001).
Can someone please explain why it still has not seen an HD release on Blu-Ray, and doesn't appear to have the barest hint of anything forthcoming? Granted, the movie was skewered by critics, but it has always been a personal favorite of mine. Over the top and overdone, perhaps, but it had such an awesome and timely concept - big brother Microsoft spying on programmers, stealing code, with a CEO equal parts Steve Jobs and Bill Gates.
Bottom line, this film was released in 2001 - relatively recent. It was a major studio release, although somewhat disappointing still having a decent enough box office haul ($18mil in the US, on a $30 mil budget), possessing a cast filled with recognizable names (Even Tyler Labine in an extremely early role), and on top of it all, has a plot revolving around technology and therefore more likely to appeal to a 'nerdy' audience than most.
So why is it 2014 and there still isn't a whiff of an Antitrust blu-ray? Will there ever be, or is there some contractual snafu or controversial aspect which means I'd best hold on to my DVD or record the next HBO airing in HD? I see it even had two DVD releases - the first, May 2001, and a re-release August of 2006. A film with two DVD releases, but without a blu-ray after almost a decade... just doesn't compute.

24 is coming back again. Why the hell is there still no talk of the first 6 seasons going blu? What's really pissing me off though is Californication. The goddamn show airs in HD, but Showtime is still only releasing DVD. This year will be the final season. Will we ever see them all on BD?

I couldn't readily find any further details, but as an early HD adopter this remains fresh in my mind:
Remember Fox kept with a ridiculous 480p broadcast format until an absurdly late date. 24 was annoying to watch up against other network shows back then, CBS and NBC 1080i and ABC at 720p. So 24's early seasons were absolutely only broadcast in, essentially, 16:9 SD.
Likewise, I'm certain a show as cinematic and high-budgeted as 24 would've had to have been produced on film, or filmed digitally and downconverted to 480p. But it's definitely possible post-production was done only in 480p, meaning early seasons would have to have special effects and CG redone for a true HD release on Blu-Ray. Especially since I cannot remember 24 airing on a cable network in HD after Fox, so that work would already have been done. I can't believe Fox was stupid enough, or 24 the type of show that would've been filmed directly on a non-HD format, but then again, Fox was belligerent about 480p being high-definition and sufficient quality for viewers back in those days, refusing to even contemplate moving to 720p or 1080i, so it isn't completely impossible.
Ultimately, I would have to strongly suspect the 480p broadcast of early 24 seasons is a factor in the absence of an HD home media release today. If 24 did ever air on cable/reruns in HD, then ignore everything above - but unless it had a run on FX some year's back that I missed, I don't recall a syndication/rerun of 24 at all, much less in HD. And, if it did have such a run, either in the US or abroad, I'd be extremely interested to hear if all the effects work was done in 1080 quality, crystal clear HD, or if it was obvious that it was mastered for broadcast in 480p.
I'd still kill for just a widescreen Buffy season 4, personally. I remember the European release of S4 was in 16:9, but Fox and/or Whedon steadfastly refused to do so for Region 1 because it 'wasn't how the show was meant to be seen.' Point being, unfortunately these shows that aired in the early days of HD have added complications for Blu-Ray releases today - especially if they weren't on CBS. It's crazy to think shows like Touched By An Angel and Diagnosis Murder were produced and broadcast for HD their later seasons, but a show like 24, starting in 2001 to boot, wasn't until quite late in its run.

Also, COUNTDOWN TO LOOKING GLASS (1984) is a suspense story taking place almost exclusively in a newsroom, where the anchors try to maintain their cool as they report the ever-threatening story of nuclear brinksmanship. Scott Glenn and Helen Shaver starred, Never released on video.
Two important, ever-more timely HBO movies never even released to DVD.
