Re: Your Blu-ray wish list / "When will _______ be on Blu-ray?"

With a title I thought would never be released on Blu just released as a Target exclusive (Honeymoon In Vegas) I find there is hope for some of my other titles.

Aladdin - my favorite Disney film would have to get the upgrade even though I haven't seen it in ages.
BevHillsCop - wouldn't mind a cleaned up version of a favorite from the 80's
Big Red 1 - have the original and the extended cut. Would love to see if they could clean up the audio track
Bugsy - got the SE and found the PQ and cut of the film inferior to the original release
Die Hard 4 The R rated version. Say what you will, John McClane needs to Muther Fukker in HD
Gettysburg basically a made for TV quality movie but ruined my old flipper and never replaced it
Grosse Point Blank nothing anamorphic in all these years?
Jurassic Park looks like this may be the year
MemphisBelle nothing anamorphic in all these years part 2?
Pearl Harbor the grittier DC, makes sitting through all that inane dialogue worth it.
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles a Thanksgiving Day tradition
Stripes didn't like the SE with the crappy way they inserted new footage
TrueLies Nothing anamorphic in all these years part 3?
While You Were Sleeping nothing anamorphic in all these years part 4?

There are others as well but these are a little more of a priority due to the film or the crappy releases that have been available so far

I would love a release for Married To The Mob. It's a personal favorite of mine.

Re: Your Blu-ray wish list / "When will _______ be on Blu-ray?"

The odds of this are next to nil, but I'd love to see "Pootie Tang" go Blu. Along with the trailer and music video from the original DVD release. I'd like to see a Chris Rock/Lance Crouther audio track and all the Pootie sketches from the Chris Rock Show like this one:

<iframe title="YouTube video player" class="youtube-player" type="text/html" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/xucK4q-SwN4" frameborder="0" allowFullScreen></iframe>

In a perfect world... *sigh*

Re: Your Blu-ray wish list / "When will _______ be on Blu-ray?"

I seriously doubt it will ever happen, but I'd love to see blu-rays of the classic RHI tv movies....
Gulliver's Travels
Merlin (especially this one)
The Odyssey
The Magical Legend Of The Leprechauns

As well as....
Rose Red
Alice In Wonderland 1985
The Langoliers

I know that Langoliers is extremely cheesy, but I love it.

I was watching They Live the other day on AMCHD and was surprised to see that this isn't out yet. I'd love to see a release with a Carpenter, Piper, and David commentary.

Re: Your Blu-ray wish list / "When will _______ be on Blu-ray?"

I really want Disney to go back and release a lot of their non-anamorphic dvd's on Blu some with special features.

Judge Dredd- This came out as a German SE, I'd love if those features were ported over
Deep Rising- This also needs 16:9 enhancement
Super Mario Bros the Movie
Adventures in Babysitting
Six Days Seven Nights
Metro
Holy Man
Honey I Shrunk the Kids
Honey I Blew Up the Baby
Ransom Director's Cut
Dead Poets Society Extended
Operation Dumbo Drop

I would also want Universal to release
Death Becomes Her
An American Tail
An American Tail Feivel Goes West
Earthquake (with deleted scenes)
Lionheart

Lionsgate needs to re-release a lot of their catalog movies in widescreen

Raise the Titanic
The Sicilian
Army of One
Last Warrior

Paramount

Breakdown
The Ghost and the Darkness
The Golden Child
Odd Couple II

where's Final Destination 2 and 3? - I really want the third one, since I thought the Rollercoaster scene was quite intense and seeing it on the King of Prussia IMAX screen was an utter blast.

They're out -- though in not particularly great editions -- in Canada. I have 'em both.

^ what's the audio like for 3 - the US DVD has a great DTS 6.1 ES soundmix on it.

Re: Your Blu-ray wish list / "When will _______ be on Blu-ray?"

I just saw The Ghost and the Darkness mentioned above. Is there any chance of that ever coming to bluray? I know Lionsgate has released some of Paramounts lesser known movies, but it badly needs an upgrade from the nonanamorphic dvd.

There are so many that have yet to get decent treatment on regular DVD. I don't mean everything needs a 2 disc special edition with tons of features but anamorphic widescreen with DD5.1 sound would be real nice. Many of my most wanted BR are not necessarily my favorite movies but movies I want to upgrade and might as well be on Blu

Capone: Anything new on the BluRay?

JL: I donít think so. I mean, they're making new extra stuff, but they wanted me to do a commentary, but I donít do commentaries.

Re: Your Blu-ray wish list / "When will _______ be on Blu-ray?"

Talking about how polished and cleaned it looks has me skeptical about DNR. Then again, this is the same man who said that the transfer of Animal House that was going to be released in 2003 was TOO polished and had them change it.

I bought the Final Destination 3 pack on Blu (parts 1,2, and 3). Offhand, I'm not sure what the audio is like on the 3rd one but the specs are listed as:

Video
Video codec: MPEG-4 AVC
Video resolution: 1080p
Aspect ratio: 1.78:1
Original aspect ratio: 2.39:1

Audio

English: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1
English: Dolby Digital 5.1
French: Dolby Digital 5.1

English: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1
English: Dolby Digital 5.1
French: Dolby Digital 5.1 (less)

Subtitles
None

Discs
25GB Blu-ray Disc
Single disc (1 BD)

Playback
Region A (locked)

Each of these films can be had for around 10 bucks each on blu-ray. Definitely worth it.

Not worth it for compromised OARs, imo.

I'd love fully loaded BR's of "Dick Tracy" and "Elizabethtown" (though I know I'm fairly alone in my second big want).

Re: Your Blu-ray wish list / "When will _______ be on Blu-ray?"

I will admit that it is a terrible movie, but I think it will still make a gorgeous Blu-ray. It is a nostalgic guilty pleasure of mine as it was an early release on DVD and one of my first discs.

Halloweentown
Halloweentown II
The Rocketeer
The Addams Family/Addams Family Values
Atlantis The Lost Empire
Jurassic Park
Dumb And Dumber theatrical version (don't want the unrated crap)
Masters Of The Universe
A Knight's Tale (with all the extras of the special edition dvd. especially the commentary)
Matilda (in widescreen)
Space Camp
Wargames
Spy Kids
Spy Kids II
Spy Kids 3D (but not the fad 3D that seems to be so popular)
Terminator 2 (without DNR. I hate the blu-ray I have)

Re: Your Blu-ray wish list / "When will _______ be on Blu-ray?"

Two of the best movies of the last 15 years:

With all the extras and hopefully some new ones for the Bluray edition (including the theatrical trailer.

For "TIG" *all the extras from both the 1999 and 2004 editions.
