Out of all of those titles listed, I'm only down for purchasing:
Mallrats
Being John Malkovich
The Last Starfighter (depending on how good the transfer is)
Battlestar Galactica: Season 1 (No. Brainer.)
Meh. Think that will decide a format war?

I buy mostly for rewatchability factor. If I can't imagine watching the movie at least 5x in the next 3 years, then I won't buy it.

I try to use a similar criteria for the most part, but there are a few I have bought just because I thought they were so good but may not pull out too watch as often (Schindler's List for example).

Yes, I'm being a bit picky, but NOT because of the current format war. I'm not holding back HD DVD purchases from fear that BD will "win" and I'll be stuck with unplayable discs. I've set from the getgo that, as much as I want one format to win, both formats will survive (thrive?) in the years to come. So I can't imagine a time when I won't be able to play my HD DVDs; I don't accept that as a probable scenario. I'm very excited at the list of Universal HD DVDs, even if some of you aren't exactly thrilled at my selection of movies that I am eagerly waiting for.

next to Dante's Peak, Long Kiss Goodnight and Lost in Space DTS laserdiscs are the loudest discs I own.
