NIN Stops 'Time' On 'With Teeth' Tour DVD
Nine Inch Nails will chronicle the tour in support of its 2005 comeback album "With Teeth" with the DVD "Beside You in Time," due Feb. 27 via Interscope. The main body of the project features 19 songs, two of which ("Right Where It Belongs" and "Beside You in Time") can be viewed from alternate camera angles.
Bonus features include five songs ("Somewhat Damaged," "Closer," "Help Me I Am in Hell," "Non-Entity" and "Only") recorded during NIN's summer 2006 outing, music videos for "The Hand That Feeds" and "Only," 2005 rehearsal footage of "Love Is Not Enough," "The Collector" and "Every Day Is Exactly the Same" and an image gallery.
Trailers from "Beside You in Time" can be viewed on the band's Web site. The DVD will be available in standard form as well as in HD and Blu-Ray, although the regular edition will include audio mixes in Dolby Digital Stereo, Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1.
Meanwhile, Nine Inch Nails is putting the finishing touches on its next studio album and will begin mixing it in January. No release date has yet been announced. The group was nominated yesterday (Dec. 7) in the best hard rock performance Grammy category for "Every Day Is Exactly the Same."

I really had this in my head as the video collection DVD. I suppose that is still waaaayyyy of knowing Trent.
Still, this is a must for me. Love NIN and already have my tickets for them playing in London next March.

Looks like the Blu-ray disc will be the best. They claim it will have a slightly better picture and it is the only one that can do real-time angle switching.

There is a new album coming out in April also! Trent doesn't support Microsoft at all, and on the official NIN page, it says it is best viewed using Safari, or Firefox. Trent has sworn by Apple. That aside, i am surprised that he decided to release it on HD-DVD also...

Also, from the official Faq: "Technically speaking, the video quality of the Blu-ray version has a slight edge over the HD DVD: It was encoded at a slightly higher bit rate due to the Blu-ray spec's higher bandwidth capabilities for encoded video streams."
Blu-ray is really shining right now.

HD-DVD is Microsoft's format symbolically. Also, Blu-ray uses Java, and not the Microsoft's proprietary HD-DVD code... (I forgot what its called). The real time angle switching capable on blu-ray, and not hd-dvd is because of Java.

Also... the FAQ fails to mention that the concert was recorded in 1080p30. The HD DVD is encoded as such, but the Blu Ray had to be re-encoded to 1080i60. IMHO, the HD DVD will be far more valuable for that reason alone. The fact that Blu Ray can't handle native 1080p30 is disappointing to say the least.

Anyone found the HD-DVD version in a store anywhere? According to bestbuy.com none of the stores around me have it and they didn't have it at CC or Target either.

I just got mine in the mail from Amazon today (HD-DVD). Tried listening to the TrueHD track and it was bad (speakers popping and static pops). I was using the 360 add-on HDDVD drive. I guess it doesn't suport True HD on this disc? 5.1 sounded good. Can't find any way to change angles (what button???)
