And if the PM difference was greater than $6.67, it didnt take any additional off.

Try purchasing only PMed titles on the same transaction. On my recepit, it shows the PM prices as the new "regular" prices, then substracts some $ off. Mine were $7.37, $5.26 & $7.37 for each of the 3 titles.

You can't stack the two anymore. Earlier this week you could. You could change the prices to anything, and when "Totaled Out" the $20 off would prompt. Now even if you change the prices, after being totaled, it will simply bring the price of all three to $20 off the original (bb) price.

They seemed to have changed this in our system at noon yesterday, as well as the BOGOF $9.99 titles.

BTW, the reason I know this is because I am a CSR at a Best Buy here in Orlando. Last night I worked and I played around with it for a bit.

Bummer. Well, thanks for the heads up. Saved me from a headache attempting to buy another batch of them.

Can I use the Nine Inch Nails HD-DVD as one of the 3 movie $20 off deal at best buy? I think it's only $16.99 this week. It doesn't seem to work for me online.

I tried it earlier this week and the lady at the register said it wasn't included in the deal since it's considered a "music title". Which I suppose makes sense until you consider that the Worst Buy website allows you to include other "music titles" in the promotion. I think they just don't want people using a $16.99 title to get the discount.

Two inexpensive HD-DVD titles...

www.mjentertainment.net has two HD-DVDs for cheap. They usually have limited stock, so hurry. Neither are my cup of tea, but I'm sure some will like...

Dukes of Hazzard $13.49
Barry Manilow $13.99

applesandrice 03-03-07 01:17 AM

So here's my Best Buy $10 off two HD-DVDs story:

A couple of weeks ago, when "The Departed" came out and the HD-DVD was on sale, it sold out quickly and I had to get a rain check for the $22.99 sale price. Also, "Superman Returns" -- although marked at $34.99 in store -- is on the BB website for $29.99. So I put the two discs together, asked the nice lady at the counter to pricematch the web price for Supes, and, after tax, managed to come away with both for $45 and some change! Hot crackers!

dfriedland 03-03-07 11:31 AM

I got a free ticket for 300 for each of the 3 titles I bought. I did this twice, so I've got 6 tickets for the movie. Hope it's good :P

Niiice! Gonna grab a few of these.

What's even better is that I received a free 3 month offer for Prime last night and almost bought a few movies, but held off. So everyone check their accounts as the free Prime offers seem to be coming around again.

Thanks

Couple of things to add to the deal:

If you have the 10% off HD deal on your Amazon account, it also works on these sale prices.

If the title also comes in HD DVD, the sale price is on those too.

speedyray 03-06-07 06:06 AM

More to add:

Buy the Marine and the Sentinnel and save an additional $3 - 32.XX for the pair with 10% discount.

I also snagged District B13.

I would grab more of the FOX titles, but since they have next to no special features I am kind of put off still, even at 19.99. They will be on sale more int he future and I will eventually get some more like Speed, Transporter and Broken Arrow.

Mr. Cinema 03-06-07 06:14 AM

Great sale. I picked up 5 of those expensive Fox titles.

Damn, I bought The World's Fastest Indian last week. I sent amazon CS an email to try to get the discount applied retroactively.

darkside 03-06-07 07:15 AM

Unfortunately not much in there I wanted to buy. Lots of bad movies, good movies with bad transfers or stuff I already have. It is really too bad that so many early BD movies were flawed.

I did grab District B13 and Ice Age. Thought about Xmen, but really can't stand Ratner.

PerryD 03-06-07 08:01 AM

Picked up Speed. It has been in my cart for a while, but couldn't pull the trigger before at $28.

I was in the same boat with Black Hawk Down and Kingdom of Heaven, but Amazon's customer service never ceases to amaze me. One quick e-mail, and less than an hour later I was refunded the difference for both. Yay, Amazon!

Mr. Cinema 03-06-07 08:07 AM

One of my titles purchased was Broken Arrow. Yeah, a cheesy, dumb action movie, but I had to get it as it doesn't appear to be getting a 16x9 dvd transfer anytime soon. For $17, not a bad deal on it either. I know I'll be going back and making another order. I wonder if this is Fox testing new pricing. When a place like Amazon runs a sale of specific studio titles, do they have to get permission from the studio to have the deal?

Any idea how recently you have to have purchased the title in order to retroactively receive the discount? I bought District B13 a couple weeks ago and paid 5 bucks more.

I don't know specifically what criteria they use, however I puchased both titles last week. The way I see it, it never hurts to ask.

Which of those titles are also out on HD DVD?

Drexl 03-06-07 10:09 AM

Dang, the few titles I would want on that list I already have. I wish Monster House was on there.

None, they are from Fox or Sony.
