I was just happy to have both versions of the mid-film interruption (VHS version and film version) on the same disc.

I have to agree with you here. Animation from Dsney is right at the top of my want list. Just because animation needs less resolution to look great does not mean there wont be a big improvment over SD versions. I fully expect the Disney classics and Pixar films to be some of the best looking transfers you can lay your hands on. The fact that it took less resolution to get them to look that great wont matter at all to me.

Finding Nemo will be hands down one of the most incredible pictures you will be able to buy. The colors and animitaion in that film are breathtaking in SD. HD will blow people minds away. Quote me right here, Finding Nemo when it comes out will be in the top 5 best looking HD movies.

Im surprised nobody picked The Mission from Warner with R. Deniro. That will be a stunning film in HD.

PS...

By the way, people on AVS who picked up Robin Hood all agreed that Looney Tunes did look better in HD. So in your face, animation doubters!

The case dimensions are not correct. It's too tall.

That's the reason it looks fake.

Probably wont happen, but it would be hilarious if hd-dvd versions of the big Disney hits (pixar movies, pirates of the carribean and so on) came out before BD.

I'm definitely game for Pirates of the Caribbean too, although hopefully the HD DVD (or Blu-ray!) doesn't look as lousy as stretches of the DVD did...

Last night when the Target guy brought my BB copy from the storeroom, he told me they had about 10 more titles back there and proceeded to name a few of them, one of which was Pirates of the Caribbean. I am guessing maybe it is out on Blu-Ray and he was saw that version, not knowing there is a difference between the 2 formats.
