Sopranos Season 6 on HD-DVD same day as Standard DVD

This could be a big boost to the HD-DVD camp - It is going to cost a fortune, but I must admit I will jump on it if Amazon discounts it pretty good.

Great news for the HD-DVD camp! Now get me Carnivale and I'm on board.

I wouldn't say $30 more is "a fortune" when, at $100, it already costs a fortune.

The last seasons of Carnivale and Deadwood have come in at $65 retail, well below the $100 MSRP. I'd guess the HD version of Sopranos would retail for $100, and that's still a lot for 12 episodes, HD or not.

Yeah if Amazon sticks with 30% off range the season would run around $90. Way to much for sure, but it won't stop many and probably won't stop me either.

That's about the only way I would buy this season. Nice to see, and I'll bet they end up coming down to a price close to dvd soon.

Should be cool to see what a boxed set looks like.

I agree. Can't wait to see the packaging.

Universal also has a new combo disc case coming out next week with Unleashed.

I've been waiting for prices to drop so I can get into the Sopranos. An HD-DVD set, although tempting, is useless if it starts at Season 6. They should at least sell Seasons 1 and 6, and fill in the rest.

I'll wait until the entire series is over.

might be good to pick this up at the DDD 20% sale... which should happen shortly after the release date.

Depends on what their price is like. As I stated before, their prices sucked last time around and weren't better than Amazon.

Btw...were all seasons shot on film?

On some titles currently, DDD is still pricier than Amazon after their 20% off. I don't see myself getting anything HD from them this time around unless their prices start dropping.
