Blue can't HANDLE the TrueHD!

"You want me online at Best Buy! You NEED me on line at Best Buy!"

"Good Night, And Good Luck," "Training Day," "Rumor Has It" and "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" will all be presented in 1080p video with Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 audio on BD-25 discs. Extra features will be identical to those found on HD-DVD and standard DVD, unlike Sony and Lionsgate's decision to crop or exclude them altogether.

The only oddity in Warner's strategy is "Training Day" will not include the Dolby TrueHD soundtrack available on the HD-DVD version. This decision may have been made to not degrade video quality in lieu of additional audio options, given the size restraints of 25GB discs versus the much-anticipated 50GB discs.

I just find that amusing.

But will it be able to by the time A Few Good Men comes out? That's that big question.

God, I love that movie.

Good thing i have the superbit version to tide me over. :)

I've never seen/heard of one. It's not listed on amazon.

it's a Japanese import.

digitalfreaknyc 07-18-06 03:13 PM

Damn.

Ya'll pulled your panties out of your asses? ;)

Well, Warner could've put on the TrueHD track if BR used different compression than MPEG-2. You know, like VC-1 or AVC.

;)

I love they are using DD+ which isn't fully supported by Samsung or Sony in their players.

It amuses me to no end that the big selling point for BR is the extra space, and so far it is basically having less space than HD-DVD. I await Sony to announce to me how this is an advantage.

What's funny is that Good Night and Good Luck is going to need 25GB for MPEG2 on BD, but only 15GB on VC-1 on HD DVD (still no excuse for the damn combo, though).
