Best price for HD-DVD players in Canada?
Are there any Canadians here who have found a great deal on HD DVD players yet? Places like Best Buy and Futureshop are selling them for $699 CAD, but won't budge on that price at all (at least, here in Calgary).
Any other suggestions?

This is just the thread I was looking for, hopefully someone will come across something, because it seems like $699 is the only option so far...and I can't afford that kind of cash right now...but am frankly dying to get my hands on one of these players. Probably ordering from the US would be a good option, but if you get dinged at customs, could end up about the same... anyone see anything better anywhere!?

also, can't find the combo discs for 16 blocks or Kiss Kiss Bang Bang anywhere...did Warner not release them in Canada or do the stores near me just suck?

Future Shop's Canada Day sale on now has the Toshiba HD-A1 for $650.99, so you save $49.00. Not the best deal ever, but better than nothing. On until july 6.

HMV (I'm in Calgary). Most of the HMV stores aren't carrying HD DVD and Blu-Ray titles, but they can ALL order them and it'll take less than 2 weeks to arrive (even if they tell you 4 - 6 weeks). I think their price is $39.99 CAD, but IMHO, it's one of those rare movies that's worth the high price point.
edit: looks like you're in Toronto. Check the HMV superstore. I'm almost positive they would have it in stock.
