Who said I was a Nintendo fanboy? Jesus. I don't even like the DS - and I HATE Nintendogs.

I think the Wii's controller will definitely add a new dimension of fun to the gaming experience. It's not the same old thing and people will enjoy something this unique and much more interactive.

I feel like Im living in the damn twilight zone. Nintendo has to be laughing there asses off. All they had to do was repackage the Gamecube and design a new controller and people think there console is next gen.

I think you're getting too caught up in the term "next gen".

Nintendo has a new console with more power (even if it's equivalent to the XBOX) and provided a new way to play games via a much more interactive controller. People want to have fun first and foremost when gaming. Who really cares if the graphics don't compete?

I guess by your logic people can't enjoy old films because the special effects aren't up to today's standards. For many people content is more important than pretty presentation. XBOX Live Arcarde is a tremendous success simply because people are having fun with it.

I don't deny that you can't enjoy playing the Wii but if you own an Xbox you already got a console with the Wiis capabilities. Why spend $200 on something you already have.

THAT'S RIGHT!! There has NEVER been a version of MGS for anything but a Sony platform. Oh except the NGC. Oh yeah, the GBC. Oh yeah, the X-Box.

If you'll take off the blu blinders and READ WHAT I WROTE, it is entirely possible that 3rd party exclucivity could waver after companies see the public's reaction to Sony's pricing.

As I have said for a long long time, Sony is totally underestimating the weight a price tag will influence buyers with BR, and they are in conjunction doing it with PS3. I am sure the first few waves of PS3 will sell through and it will be hard to find this year. We'll talk in 1 year about wether the launch period was a success.

Where can I find a console with roughly the same power as an XBOX and offers a controller with motion sensors that work in the manner the Wii's controller does... and has games that take advantage of those functions?

The Xbox doesn't have the Wii's controller. The controller...the gameplay...is the draw, not FLOPS. I'd argue that the Wii will be so much better engineered that it's a faulty comparison, but really, that has no place in a PS3 pricing thread.

People who give a damn about how there games look will scoff at the Wii. I seem to get trouble with the administraters every time I bash the Wii but when others bash the Playstation 3 they turn the other cheak. The Wii deserves to be bashed. It simply can't compete with the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 because its not a next gen console. Its a current gen console in a new package and a new controller.

Are you 12 or 13?

The no one is bashing the PS3, we are discussing the ramifications of things that are real. The price. The hardware. Have you played Wii? You act like you have.

Those of us that can operate on a higher than sixth grade mentality can discuss and disagree on an intelligent level. "Wii deserves to be bashed." Of course it does in your mind, since you fear what it means to your precious Sony, Your railing against Wii certainly tells me that you are really scared of it.

Adam Tyner 05-26-06 08:51 PM

Okay, it was kinda fun at first, but this thread has really veered off-topic. We have a video game forum, and that's a better place to debate the merits of the Wii than a PS3 pricing thread.
