Projector Central's HD-A1 first impressions
I thought this article HD-DVD: It's Here, and it's Spectacular posted on Projector Central was good. It cleared up some questions I had and some points that have been discussed on other threads here.
For example:

Now the question is when is Toshiba going to start selling PC HD-DVDROM drives, since that's what's in the consumer player anyway! |
Great review, and very consistent with my own observations.

Read this part again: After hours of viewing three different HD-DVD movies there is simply no evidence of any artifact that might be attributed to the fact that the signal was transmitted in 1080i format. The picture is as clean, stable, and as artifact-free as it could be. There is no visible defect in the image that would be eliminated by switching to 1080p transmission. |
