"show first unread" button isn't working right
Is anyone else seeing this problem? I'm on the latest version of Firefox, but I've seen the same issue with Chrome.
That little button next to a thread title, that is supposed to take you to the first unread message in a thread isn't working right. It's taking me 3 to 10 posts BEFORE the first unread post. Not the end of the world, I know, but it gets annoying to always have to scroll down past read posts. |
Re: "show first unread" button isn't working right
It usually works for me, but have noticed that a few specific threads always put me a few posts back. Pretty sure that’s a fairly new ‘feature’.

Using Chrome and, sometimes, it acts wonky.

I wonder if it has something to do with deleted posts?

It's acted a little weird from time to time since the board upgrade for me.

I don't have infinite scroll enabled. The Political Memes thread, when I clicked on show first unread, it took me to post 16508, when the first unread post for me was 16512
The Official Media Bias one sets me back 6 posts from where it should be. |

This is happening to me in about every third thread. Thread opens to 10-20 posts back instead of the current post. iOS Safari

"Current post" meaning the latest/chronologically last post in a thread?
The “first unread button” used to work perfectly, except in the rare deleted post example as discussed earlier. But after the upgrade, it got glitchier as noted early in the thread. The last week or so, it’s even odder, and probably can’t all be explained by the deleted post scenario. Most of the time it works perfectly as before. But sometimes it brings me back to much earlier in the thread, but always the same (40 posts) page, sometimes several days and 20 or more posts earlier. And sometimes it brings me to the bottom of a thread, even below where I can’t see the last post without scrolling. |

Well, to be thorough:

Re: "show first unread" button isn't working right
I’ve never cleared my cache. If that would fix it, cool, but I’m just pointing out that for 20 years it always worked, but doesn’t as much now. For example, clicking it for this thread just now took me to post 3.
