Neither really. I have cut and pasted my post from one month to the next for a long time. I am guessing it was originally done manually many years ago. Are you going to suggest the tag above is now the way to go?

In this world of simplifying everything so a freakin' neanderthal can use it, the Edit Post function for some reason becomes the exception to the rule.

So, full speed ahead with the updates, regardless of what it breaks, and to hell with the people who actually make this forum what it is.

Sometimes, updates are NOT better.

Re: What is Standard Editor?

I changed the spoiler in my post and can now edit it again. Somewhat irritating to have to mess with it, but I suppose all is well now.

Well it should save you a step. Just highlight and click the button. You're probably right that the BBCode for spoilers was probably implemented before the text editor had a specific button for it and thus copy/pasting would've been the easiest thing to do.

What part of the process of editing a post has become more difficult?

Re: What is Standard Editor?

I've noticed that images I upload - in the political cartoon thread - are being reduced in size, making some difficult to read. Is there a way to prevent that?

Could you link me to one of these, please? I'll take a look and do some testing.

I think this is OK because you can clearly see when a thread was started. Sometimes people will randomly bump a thead that is years and years old with outdated info and then you'll get replies about it like it is current. Then again, many don't pay attention, period.

How are you posting? Via url or uploading from device.
Do you have this option after you pick the picture you want to upload? It shows up (MS Edge/iPhone) at the very bottom after selecting the pic in my library. I’m not sure if the option is there for url method.

Uh yeah...kind of aware of that. Doesn't seem like a good percentage of users were exactly pining for it.

Here's one, but the whole last page of the political comic thread seems affected. https://forum.dvdtalk.com/religion-p...l#post13643883

I'm using the URLs from gocomics, just like always. I tried, and don't see the options you mention.

edited to add: Wow, new editing thing is kinda suck!

What happened to changing the font sizes?

This is still supported, you just have to click on "Source" and manually input the tags

[ size =6 ]Test[ /size ]

Can you send me the URL you're posting? The uploader does not have size adjustments. It is presumably automatically resizing your photos, but as you can see from my screenshot post, it doesn't resize mine. So it must be something to do with those URLs.

I right-click and select "copy image location"

With the Standard Editor, there were tags, such as and (it won't even let me show you the tags I mean, each time I try, they don't show up in the post. They're the tags for italics and bolded, just so you know) so that when I edit a post I can copy/paste text between those tags and change the text, keeping the tags as they are. With this new Editor, there are no tags, so that when you copy/paste text over existing italicized or bolded text, the italics or bold go away and you have to re-italicize or re-bold the text. Anyway, doesn't matter, it's just small potatoes. It's just an annoyance to me.

You can see tags if you click on Source.

yeah, this is annoying. i liked the option for different sizes at ease. it's just another reason, with this whole change and changes that have been going on that make people disappear from this site. isn't the point to attract as many as possible? why make it harder/frustrating for us long timers and any newcomers?

But why in the hell should I have to???

And by the way, I couldn't even get to page 2 of this thread until I changed my options from 40 posts per page to 20...

Re: What is Standard Editor?

Since the conversation is in here, I have got to say the forum has taken a turn for the worse lately. The spoiler thing is messing up my posts, the Spending tab thread has gone crazy, I stopped formatting in the OHMC a few years back when this all started because of how the code just went crazy sometimes. I get that things need to change with the times but we are going through all these headaches and still don'e even have a night mode?

Here is pictures of what happens when I try to edit my spending tab:
It changes to a near black document
