I'm sorry if this was mentioned already in this thread, but my not searching for it actually ties in to my actual gripe itself. Please, PLEASE tell me there is a way to turn off this infinite scroll nonsense. Thank you.

Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread
I've noticed when I reply to a thread, or post a new thread, the editor box is pushed all the way over to the left. I can make it taller, but I can't make it any wider.
Is this normal? I don't remember what it was like before.
It would be nice if I could make it wider. And shouldn't it be centered?
I'm using Firefox on a desktop PC.

Select the editor you'd like to use and click Save at the bottom.

Ah, that ties into what BobO'Link was mentioning on the last last page. So every user should have defaulted to "Full CKEditor". That's the only one optimized for the new software. You can keep the old text editor, like you have, but it has a few kinks. Tech will not be updating it, but they won't be scrapping it, either. If you want to switch editors because yours for some reason didn't switch to Full CKEditor, go here: https://forum.dvdtalk.com/profile.php?do=editoptions
Select the editor you'd like to use and click Save at the bottom.

But “Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls” appears to be the only one to work well, although I haven’t fully tested it.

I'd like to see HTML embed turned back on. I know that I and others used it to display table data for leaderboards in different contests.
Examples:

When you *reply* you get stuck with that narrow edit box. If you just "Submit Reply" and then "Edit" the resulting post you get an in-line "Standard" editor that *is* the full width of the screen as it should be. So... it works in one place but not another.

We have updated the ad layout for logged in users. They, especially ads between posts, should be less intrusive, now.

Hey guys, Kenbuzz here. Long time poster, first time visitor to this forum.
Hi.
Say, I notice that something y'all did has really borked-up the table-intensive DVDTalk NFL Playoff Pool. I could try to explain the disaster that the Pool has suddenly become, but I think it's best to experience it first-hand yourself. Here's the pool location:
https://forum.dvdtalk.com/sports-tal...-new-post.html
Here's a little sample of what -should- be interpreted HTML code, presented to the user as a table, but instead being presented as raw HTML:
<TABLE BORDER=1><tr align=center><TH align="center">Rank</TH><TH align="center">Player</TH><TH align="center">Wild Card</TH><TH align="center">Divisional</TH><TH align="center">Conference</TH><TH align="center">Super Bowl</TH><TH align="center">Points</TH><TH align="center">Actual</TH><TH align="center">Diff</TH></tr><tr align=center><td>-</td><td><b>

So, yeah, if there's a switch that got thrown that you might un-throw to fix this so that the above looks like a nicely formatted rectangle containing rows and cells and text rather than line after line after line of < and > and / and other giberish, that would be terrific.
Thanks!

Read up a bit ^^^ HTML was disabled because it is a security risk. They are looking into seeing if there are any workarounds.

I'm in the same boat as kenbuzz as I usually starts the NFL weekly threads and use the HTML table formatting for the schedules. Without, it looks like crap.

I’ve been here for 19 years first I’ve heard of a panic button.
also ads between posts is trash.
one more thing, why don’t sentences auto capitalize anymore?

I will have to admit, my first reaction was pretty much of disgust, but after using the site for a while, I've gotten used to the differences, and it doesn't bother me so much.
A couple things I do like:
A couple things I do like:
- The emoji browser! So much nicer than the old one
- The old forum used to have problems with the "show me new posts in this thread" button. It would always put me 5-10 posts before the first new one. With the forum change, I always hit the exact first new post.

Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread
Can someone educate me on how exactly the HTML stuff went down here? I thought IBJoel said they turned HTML off here a couple weeks ago, something to do with YouTube and Twitter imbeds. He gave us a workaround for those imbeds. But even after that, the tables in our various sports and Challenge threads still worked. But then a couple days ago, something else was tweaked destroying the tables. If it was necessary for security reasons that’s fine, but it’d be nice to have a full explanation of the various things that you’ve done recently.
