"Your connection to this site is not fully secure"
Using Chrome on an iPhone, this "i" logo appears on randomly on a lot of pages now. When I click on it, this is the message. Can you explain why this might be happening?

Re: "Your connection to this site is not fully secure"
Smilies and the 'premium member' hat are hardcoded to not be secure. Since I have that hat, you'll notice that this thread is now listed as not being secure, whereas it was when you first started it.
If someone tries to embed an image (or something similar) in a post that's served over http rather than https, it'll also trigger that warning. |
Re: "Your connection to this site is not fully secure"
That makes perfect sense. Thanks!
I assume, based on how you've worded it, the smilies and hat can't be re-hardcoded to secure, eh? |
Re: "Your connection to this site is not fully secure"
Someone at Internet Brands just needs to make some adjustments in the forum's control panel. I don't have access to do that myself.

I'll ask tech if that's something we can get done

Re: "Your connection to this site is not fully secure"
I get this in Safari. Only appears when I access the forum from the home page.

Re: "Your connection to this site is not fully secure"
Not sure if this is related, but I'm not able to access the site at all using Firefox. Started yesterday evening, and is still happening (I've done a reboot, so cookies or whatever should've cleared). Working fine on Vivaldi. This is what I'm getting:
Secure Connection Failed The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Edited to add: Just remembered that it was working this morning. So, it seems to be intermittent - happening at night? More editing: Not able to access from Firefox this morning, so I tried Chrome - also no access. |

Testing connection on Chrome, via non-IB network

Re: "Your connection to this site is not fully secure"
It's behaving for me in both Chrome and Firefox.
Bronkster: what happens when you try to browse the forum in Incognito mode? Anything different? |

Incognito? You mean not signed in?

Re: "Your connection to this site is not fully secure"
Ah, okay - was unaware of that. Okay, I tried on both Chrome and Firefox and got the same result.

Re: "Your connection to this site is not fully secure"
Bronkster, do you have another device/network you'd be able to try the site on?
|
Re: "Your connection to this site is not fully secure"
Fired up my old (POS) laptop and was able to get on through Firefox right away. Same network. Hm!

Re: "Your connection to this site is not fully secure"
Here's a happy update. Kaspersky did an update that required it be restarted, and indicated some security blahblahblah for Firefox needed Firefox to be restarted also. I did, and now I have access to Dvdtalk again! Works on Chrome, too! So, it was my security crap that was messing things up.
But thanks for the assist! I do appreciate your helping. |
