Ok, thanks. I was using Chrome on my iOS device. I'll try Safari with the fix you mentioned.

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile

Whenever you get a mobile hijack, please try to copy the URL and give it to us. It helps us trace what ads are causing the problem.

Back to the whack-a-mole approach eh? Thought this approach wasn't working.

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile

The only way to copy the URL is to click on the ad itself (instead of CLOSING the browser, re-opening the browser, and quickly closing the tab before it loads).

Fuck. that. shit.

Fix your site.

So, is there a solution to my problem on iPhone 6?

We’ve been dealing with this issue for 20 months now, and there doesn’t appear to be a full-proof solution on the iOS user end.

Sometimes Chrome works better than safari on iOS, but sometimes it doesn’t.

Unless IB changes ad servers I think were screwed.

Re: 4K / Ultra HD Blu-ray: Discounts and deals

Don't know if anyone else has been having similar issues with popups from the site on mobile, but just had this thread throw up a pop-up that was actually yelling at me in a computer-reading voice -in Portuguese?!?!?- that my phone is infected and I needed to download and install their software to make it run faster? Lol.
It was hilarious and I couldn't make out what it was saying or the language until the last sentence.

Pop-ups been an issue for almost 2 years. We’ve been bitching to IB about in a thread in Feedbck, but they won’t fix it.

I primarily use Chrome too but Safari is the built-in browser for things like Twitter. That said, I haven't gotten any hijacks on Chrome either. I don't think I did anything to that browser, but I jumped down a rabbit hole on this issue a few months ago and might have flipped switches I'm not remembering.

Maybe turning it off on Safari got it out of my system all together or something.

Newer chrome versions are supposed to prevent pop up ads. On my desktop, the ad blocker extension works great, but I was never able to browse DVD Talk on my phone because of the full screen ad redirects that locked up my browser. I finally found a setting in Chrome that blocked it

chrome://flags/#enable-framebusting-needs-sameorigin-or-usergesture

I just pasted the above in the browser window, and I was able to use my phone again.

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile

Yesterday I experienced a video that would not let me scroll past it and an actual redirect (even with the chrome blocker). Almost like the ad thieves are upping their game.

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile

If you have been experiencing this issue, please let us know if it is still occurring as of this post -- we believe we've managed to turn it off.

Thank you,

Paul

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile

Just had a few popups blocked. The URL was long and was not able to get a screenshot. Will attempt to get screenshot if it happens again.

Thank you b2net. Does that mean you still seem to be experiencing them? Are you using Chrome/Android?

That doesn't work on my iOS Chrome App. It only seems to be available for me on the Android App.

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile

I would add that I'm not seeing any redirects on either Android or iOS today.

Make that three times now because it tried while I was in this thread posting about the other two attempts.

Re: Ads redirecting on mobile

Just received this in the 3D thread in HD Talk. Always wonder if some of this is thread related like targeted ads.
