Original DVDTalk logo?

Was just wondering if anyone still had the original logo or at least remembered what it looked like? I remember when it was changed to the current one, I usually remember this sort of thing but I don't have a clear picture of the older one- I think there was a disc element in it? I did a Google image search and came up with nothing.

Never liked the new logo. I saw we go retro.

I believe the change had something to do with a trademark violation with the official DVD logo...

Was there another logo in between that? I swear I don't remember the one there which looks like the regular "DVD Video" logo.

I know- but back then I was reading the site on a Sega Saturn with Netlink modem and web browser- I had no place to save anything except onto VHS tape! I routinely save graphics and stuff on my computer now, plus there's stuff I just plain remember. I got most of my early info about DVD from E-Town, which had a plug in the background of every post- that always took a few more seconds to load.

Wondering if there's going to be anything for DVD's 20th anniversary next year?

I mean... is there any data on exactly how many people were actually using the Sega Saturn for web browsing?

10's of people, right? If that?

I can remember the smell of their shipping boxes. Plastic mixed with the oil of the free popcorn. Pure bliss.

On occasion, I got some Red Vines from 800.com instead of popcorn.

There were a lot of people (NetLinkers), myself included. :P

Apparently it was around 40k

Re: Original DVDTalk logo?

I bought the Saturn specifically for the web browser. I'd just gotten a 40-inch Mitsubishi TV and figured surfing the net on that would be neater than on a regular computer- WebTV was also out but I thought not only would having a game system be better since I could also play games on it, but that having a CD drive would make it easier to update the software. Sadly the support for that thing sucked- there was only one software update, and they never supported video playback or anything remotely fancy. Now I'm typing this on my laptop hooked to my 60-inch LCD. I still play games on the Saturn every now and then.
