Problem with Affiliated Links in Email Notifications

Some folks are reporting a problem with affiliated links in email notification in the Amazon App Deal Thread. I'm posting the affiliated links as described in the FAQ thread (example, today's link was http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/B00DY8TLA0/dvdtalk. Apparently the links work fine in the thread it's just an issue with email. Anyone have some thoughts on what's going on?

I think we figured it out in the thread. I was posting this link: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/B00EPDMSO4/dvdtalk which was not working for folks using email notifications. I changed it to this link: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00EPDMSO4/ and everyone seems to be happy.
