I am beginning to see why this place is becoming deserted like rats off a sinking ship.

If it doesn't bother Bandoman, I don't see why it should bother any of you. Starting a whole thread about it was immature and stupid. Maybe I should start a thread called "The one and only get over your fucking self thread."

1. The thread was started by a mod. Taking posts from the initial thread.
2. Just because VEG will not defend himself does not mean his friends will not.
3. All of the poster's defending VEG are poster's that have been here for a long time. It has nothing to do with the Forum "sinking," but moreso to do with support.
5. Sorry. #4 was filled with inappropriate comments and some swearing.
6. Sometimes Vibiana's Enormous Genital's are able to survive in the world on their own. And sometimes they need someone to have their back. Decency and politeness are not weakness. But some people are confused by it.

Pesky mod accepts blame and closes this split-off thread temporarily while sorting out some of the behind-the-scenes flak.

To avoid further potential embarrassment, discord or whatever it is we have witnessed here, there'll be no further other-member-referencing name changes.

If both parties are cool with the change, I don't see a problem. Sooner or later I'll associate the new name with the old, although it will be a little jarring in the short term. Some of the other changes make me chuckle, some make me scratch my head.

To possibly be serious, I guess I'm ok with the changes too, fwiw. The traditionalist in me hates change and thinks that once you've built a community name changes can be jarring, hence the original rule. But in real life people change their own names, and friends and family get used to it.

As long as it's a fairly rare event and they aren't made to be malicious or confusing, like ideologues swapping handles.

Agreed. I think it's a bit jarring right now because there was a bit of pent-up demand. But once that settles down I don't think it will be much of an issue going forward.
