For reasons that have been explained at length before, but which I know have not found sympathy with all members, we have enforced a fairly strict policy surrounding the issue of changing screen-names in the DVDTalk.com forums.

Now, although I cannot commit the newly-invigorated mod and admin team to anything in perpetuity, and the aforementioned long-tested policy retains its rationale, in the spirit of the recent changes underway here I am pleased to announce...

For the coming week members can request here a one-off change in their screen name and we will do our level best to enact it with all possible speed.

As always, due propriety must be observed i.e. you cannot have someone else's name; near-duplicates to other members' names also should be avoided; for <strike>a couple of</strike> <font color=red>six</font> months you will need to include in the Location field along the lines of "formerly known as ..."

As I have said, for now this is a very short-term opportunity. I will do my best to PM anyone I know who asked for a change before and fell outside of the rules. Given the traffic Feedback has seen of late, I think that a week is ample time for folk generally to read and act on this.

Ideally, I'd like people simply to post in this thread. But if you particularly wish to PM me, then please do so. Because I need to be sure that the requestor is who it should be, email requests are not permissible on this occasion. I simply don't have the capacity to do the necessary double-checking that comes with email.

Please help out interested members by refraining from taking this thread away from its intended purpose.

1) TGM & Music now in place.
2) For the avoidance of doubt, recently-changed names do not become available for immediate re-use.

A small change. I have OCD and haven't liked "troystiffler" for ten years. I got to update it for the-site-which-shall-not-be-named and it feels good.

I always liked the HTF style where everyone uses their real names.

People change their names all the time and don't want to no longer be associated with the previous name.
