Reported to tech, thank you.

Which thread were you trying to reply to?

Re: Malware?

Tech says it sounds like an externally included image from a blacklisted domain may be causing this. We can't really fix this as the problem is external.

I got the same warning. Beware the diabetes thread in Other.

I'm now getting this on the "moviefan2k4 wants to rule the forum" thread in otter.

Same here. Must be one of the links or images posted in it.

Yep, I see it too on the "current last page" of that thread.

He found a way to start censoring, dammit!

Pull the the pics/links user-posted from the last 20 posts in that thread, you can do that.

Last page of the proposed forum changes thread in Other:

"Content from www.carlmossbergdds.com, a known malware distributor, has been inserted into this web page. Visiting this page now is very likely to infect your computer with malware."

It was cungar's post at 12:17 PM with the confessional animated gif. (carlmossbergdds.com is the host at fault.) I don't mod Other, so if there were any RTPTAM messages, I didn't get 'em, but I deleted the post, so things'll hopefully be fine now.

Re: Malware?

I did a quick google, and carlmossbergdds.com seems to be a legit site for a dentist, though google has a tag on it that says "This site may harm your computer."

Why would a site for a legit business, a healthcare professional no less, be hosting malware?

I've run into a few instances like this before; the last one was the website for a church that one of my cousins goes to. Luckily MSE caught the malware before it infected me.

'Cause someone broke in and put some on there. Script kiddies using WordPress exploits or whatever.

...or it could be that nothing's wrong at all and Google's being insanely paranoid. I've run into cases where an ad provider was pushing out bad code, and sites referencing that ad provider were blocked even though they weren't doing anything at all.

No, this is the correct answer. I run an abuse desk, and Google's warnings are not wrong. The legitimate site was compromised, usually due to either unpatched application vulnerabilities or compromised FTP credentials, and the hackers use it to distribute their malware.
