Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
It looks like the issues have not abated as hoped. We are going to have to go back to diagnosing the issue. Can you give feedback as to which browsers seem most affected? Any other datails about site behavior could help.
Thank you, Paul |
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
I'm using Chrome, but I've had it happen on Firefox as well. Typically I open one forum page and then open a bunch of threads from that forum back to back in new tabs, probably 6-10 at a time. Then 2-3 of these tabs will fail to load. They almost always load if I refresh. This happens pretty much daily and has for at least a couple of months. Sometimes a forum page will fail to load, usually when clicking on the Politics subforum from Other. It will also load when refreshed. Often the browser reports that it's waiting for yui.yahooapis.com as noted above.

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
It's been slow for a couple of months, almost daily there are timeouts, but I haven't noticed any patterns as to when it gets slow. I visit this site with Firefox primarily, but it seems about the same from Safari (on my iPhone and iPad), and IE8 on my work PC.
|
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
Using Chrome here and it's been awfully slow, especially at start up (the Other forum is my home page). I can click on any other sites and they will load immediately, then go back to DVD Talk and wait some more.
|
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
It's been worse the past two days. Many pages have to be refreshed several times to load. Often only the header and review links will load, with the posts not showing up until pages are refreshed several times.
|
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
never had issues before, but using chrome and it's hanging like crazy now.
|
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
I've been having this problem lately also to the point where it's either just plain slow or pages won't load at all.
|
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
It hasn't been as bad for me the last 2 days, but I did go back to using IE instead of Chrome. However it still randomly hangs up.
|
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
I am still not able to reproduce a slowness or hangup issue. I've tried with IE, FF and Chrome.
Is this occurring when posting or when viewing or both? Paul |
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
My issues are viewing, primarily using Chrome. It happens at all hours throughout the day, regardless of my internet connection (home, work, and now in a different city entirely and still have loading issues sometimes.)

Paul It was pretty bad at one point weeks ago, then was fairly minor for awhile, but now it happens with about one out of every five threads I try to load. Using IE and a T1 connection now. Edit to add: And what Fumanstan said. All hours of the day, multiple browsers, multiple computers, multiple connection speeds. |
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
It has happened during posting for me, but I am on DVDTalk a lot during the day, and it seems to be completely random to me. Perhaps you aren't seeing because you aren't as addicted to this message board as the rest of us.

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
I honestly haven't noticed the slowness for a few days now.
|
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
A few brief hangs had me wondering if it was back, but then if I reclick the link, it loads fast. Seems to be mostly OK now.

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
Nevermind. I have already had quite a few hangups today.

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
It's the ad servers.

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
It's been almost unusable at times over the last few days, requiring multiple refreshes to get pages to load.
|
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
super slow for me as well. IE9 on Windows 7.
|
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
Oddly, it seems to be working better in Firefox than Chrome today. I can't even get most pages to load in Chrome.

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
Bringing it up in the tech que.

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
This happens to me somewhere around half the time, if I had to guess.

Forum links and posts loading slow in IE8 on XP SP3. -kd5-

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
I haven't had one failed try since using Firefox today and yesterday, but Chrome fails to load almost every page now. There's nothing different about how they're set up (i.e. no proxies, no separate DNS servers, etc.).

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
Last couple of days have been awful for me
|
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
I've had to completely abandon using Chrome. The waits are awful on DVD Talk. Firefox seems moderately faster.

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
Chrome is still barely working. Hope they are looking into this.

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
I believe that this has been "escalated" within IB but cannot speak with any authority as to the likely actions/results that will flow from said escalation.

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
Going to try to get a close look at this today. Fear not, I feel your pain!

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
I was just coming here to report the same issue. I've been having a lot of delays today, much more than usual, using Chrome. Seems to be doing better, though. Thanks for looking into it!
|
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
Also coming to report, since it's been erratically consistent for a few days now. I've seen it worse, but there's a noticeable delay from clicking on anything to when the page displays. I'm using Firefox.

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
Things still load just a little slow in Chrome, but it's been much better. Nothing seems to be timing out tonight.
|
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
I'm still having lots of problems. CSS sporadically won't load, only a certain percentage of images in reviews will come up, it'll take up to five or six attempts to get a thread or forum listing to load....
|
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
I take it all back. Everything is timing out. I'm back to Firefox today.
|
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
i too am getting slowness, and just got this error:
vBulletin datastore error caused by one or more of the following:
Fatal error: vBulletin datastore cache incomplete or corrupt in [path]/includes/init.php on line 214 |
Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
Any time I click on a link or make a post, it takes several seconds to complete. This forum was always very fast for me (XP SP3, IE8), click on a link and I'm there, submit a post and it's done. Now when I submit a post it's 7 to 10 seconds before the post makes it, a good 5 seconds (or longer) after clicking a link to change destinations. This has been going on for at least a week (probably longer). There is no quickness about the forum anymore. I wish vBulletin would resolve whatever issues they're having. -kd5-

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
Again, we're very sorry for this. We've been working on tracking down a resolution to the site issues we know you've been having. I promise I will update you as soon as I can.
Is it at least possible to go to Firefox and perform some basic functions? |
