Polls in the movie forum..

I thought we fixed this issue. A certain member (JumpCutz) has like 5 polls on the front page. I thought based on that other thread about the directors polls, it was determined to keep these at a minimum. They are annoying as hell.

I only see four, and he has quite a bit of discussion going on in all of them. If people are talking in the threads, then what's the problem? Should we just go around closing all the threads you don't have any interest in? Ignore them. It's not hard, I promise.

it's not that i don't have interest in them. people were told to knock that shit off because they were monopolizing space on the front page.

once again, i propose a poll sub-forum so everyone who so loves to jerk off to threads like this have a place to go. imho, they do nothing but clutter up the forum and bump informational threads off the front page.

Soon there will come a time when there will be too many movie forum poll threads in the feedback section. ;)

They generate good discussion. It's a movie discussion forum. :hscratch:

People respond and seem to like them.

Pretty easy to avoid if you're not interested.

/\ Agreed, as long as people are participating, what is the problem?

The other threads are still there, regardless of whether or not they are on the front page. If they are not on the front page, that is likely because there is more interest in the threads above them; in this instance, those threads being the polls.

4 threads out of 40 threads on the front page is monopolizing space?

Several of my polls were created weeks ago and keep getting bumped because people are interested in the subject matter.

4 isn't that bad to me, and i'm the king of the anti-discussion trend of this forum according to someone here  It only bothered me when the page was flooded with them, but it's not like all of these were created on the same day just for the sake of posting a shit load like before.

I think this is the key. I'm not a fan of multiple poll threads filling up the movie forum either but as long as JumpCutz isn't making multiple polls in a very short time (within hours of each other) I don't see a problem with it.

Re: Polls in the movie forum..

There's definitely a difference between a single person flooding a bunch of polls within a short time frame, and a bunch of poll threads getting actual content/discussion from other people.

I'm not a real fan of how every TV episode gets it's own thread. I mean, really? Every episode?

I also think that all baseball related threads in "Sports Talk" should be locked and moved to archives because I don't like baseball. Or football, get rid of that too.

While your (X) at it, I'd like you to get rid of the DVD section of the forum because I hardly ever watch DVD's any more.

Thank you.

I support all of these. As long as no one types in all blue text. Now that would just be stupid!

Edit: Oh, moderators, I'd like you to delete the "Step Up 3D" thread. I have no interest in commenting in it and it's a real eye sore. Thanks again.

Blu Man, this is the Feedback Forum which is used to discuss forum issues. The type of posts you primarily make here are more suited for the Other Forum. Please keep them there.
