Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
in Movie Forum.
not just close them, but get rid of them all together? i know people think they are being witty by creating the be all end all with each new sarcastic thread title, but c'mon. aren't we a forum that is above these shenanigans? this isn't CAG for goodness sake. |
Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
 It's one day out of the year.

Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
true, but when you wake up tomorrow, you really want to see all those rather inane threads still there?
|
Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
Well how do you think we have felt since 2008 with everyone and their mother starting up TDK like no ones business. Maybe now at least with this there will be much less of them.

Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
DVDTalk's shenanigans are cruel and tragic...
Which makes them not shenanigans at all, really. |
Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
When scott1598 of all people is complaining about dupe threads you know you've got a problem.

Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
2 years ago, I made 3 April Fool's day threads on separate forums and they were closed almost immediately and the mods sent me a warning to stop it and not do it again. Today, a member who rarely participates in the forum bumps and creates like 10 threads of the Dark Knight and the movie forum gets flooded by copycats and nothing is done. Real, good threads got bumped to page 2. Just saying....
|
Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
I agree with dx23. They used to not tolerate this stuff. Half the threads in Movie Talk are jokes. What happened?
|
Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
I can't believe anyone is complaining about this, or advocating censorship. Delete them? Really? And this from Scott of all people?
Just ignore stuff if you don't like it. As far as 'real good threads' getting bumped to page two (heavens!), if they're really good they'll get posts. |
Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
It appears as if all of the "hilarious" Movie Talk threads have been deleted, thankfully.
|
Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
Um, why was my thread about the rewatchability of Batman begins vs TDK deleted ? What forum rule was being violated ?
|
Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
Censorship is NEVER a good thing.
Lock them, fine. Warn/suspend repeat offenders, fine. But nothing should ever be deleted. |

Fucking christ...

Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
can we just delete the "Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads" thread?
|
Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
Well, it appears andy434343 got whacked out of the forum since his posts and account have been erased from DVDTalk. The only trace of him left in the forum is the people who quoted him in several threads. That's not right. Ban his account, but don't delete him.

Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
Scott complaining about inane posts  rotfl .

Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
was the 50+ page "The Dark Knight (Nolan, 2008) — The Reviews Thread" accidentally deleted? if so could it please be re-instated? there was a lot of great discussion and insights/thoughts on the movie that was great to look back on...
|
Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
I won't claim to know how easy things are to do around here, but wouldn't the best possible solution in this case be to have moved these bogus threads to the archives. That way they're not deleted, yet they're moved "out of the way" and not cluttering the place up.

Why so many questions? |

Just lock the threads, warn the posters, and the threads will fall off the first few pages within a day or so. Similarly, things get closed/removed with no written explanation. Come on, it was eight or so measly threads. Post a 'closing gag thread' or 'post in original TDK threads' in each, close, and move on. There was some funny stuff in those threads. And even if it was all crap, deleting people's posts is just wrong (with very few exceptions like total vulgarity or illegal activity of course). |
Re: Can we just delete all 'The Dark Knight' threads?
Yet my tdk contest thread still lives  Does this mean I have to buy someone a copy by next year :D

And I think that was started a couple of days ago, before the onslaught of TDK "discussions".
But as far as I know, the discussions in Batman begins vs TDK rewatchability were proper. |

Yes, it was. I noticed a few TDK threads came up after I made that thread.
