Thread title updating??
 

I read the FAQ and searched around for a thread pertaining to it, but found nothing.

I'm just curious as to why we can't do this?

For instance I'm a new member in the exchange thread, (but I plan on becoming a mainstay) and I understand the reasoning for not having multiple trade threads going for the same user, but if you continue to use the same thread it would be really convienent if you could update the title of the thread to reflect new items you have to offer for trade.

Instead of creating new threads for every few new item's you have to offer, everyone could have their own thread, where people could navigate your entire trade history, see the item's you've had to offer over time and see what kind of expierence people have had trading with you . Just some food for thought.

No, thread titles should never be allowed to be changed by us regular folk.

Stupid example, but it's early: Imagine a thread called, "I love Obama", with lots of activity. The original poster gets pissy and changes the title to "post here if you hate Obama".

Moderators are here for a reason. Very few threads should need title changes, let the mods do them for us.

I can see his point in regards to the exchange forum though. It would be nice to be able to have one thread forever and just update and bump when you have something new.

^ I agree, but i imagine it would be pretty much impossible to make the settings work for only exchange threads.
