Signature content deleted

I noticed the review links in my signature had been deleted tonight when I logged in. I got no notice from a mod or admin explaining why, outside of a very short "commercial site" note in the signature box itself.

In looking at the FAQ under signature, it states the following:

"'Signatures' contain information that you want to include at the bottom of all your posts. This might include pictures, links to your site(s), quotes, etc."

The links being provided were DVD, BD and movie reviews on my site. Can someone explain why they were deleted?

The site which you promoted in your signature...

Most current reviews: Sanctuary: The Complete First Season; Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (coming 9/18); Karaoke; Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home; Wonder Woman; Slovenka; Carriers; Gamer; Terry Fator: Live From Las Vegas (DVD); Extract; Westworld; Halloween 2 (2009).

led to pages that went directly to Amazon in order to purchase the DVD when you clicked on the DVD. That is a commercial site and we don't allow links to commercial sites here.

So what you're saying (I'll try to make this easy) is that any link in a signature which goes to an outside site can not have a link to a commercial site, right?

In that case, I will be forwarding you personally users who have DVDAF links in their signatures since that site also has Amazon and other retail links.

Thanks!

You can't have links to a site where you personally profit from people going to your site.

I hope you can understand that.

I certainly understand the rule even though it's not being applied the same way across the board.

An individual can not "profit" yet I'm sure by buying things through DVDAF or another organization that makes them some kind of profit, right?

Is that not a bit...contradictory?

PS-they weren't ads for a commercial site, btw. An ad for a commercial site would be a direct link to Amazon which these weren't.

Also, the links lead to a porn site.
