Could ignore list setting be modified so that admins can be added?

Let's just say that some admins are not as mature as they should be. Could the list be modified so that admins can be added? Or can there be a system where a member emails a site administrator (not just a board admin) to get a board admin added after listings reasons why?

Nope, sorry, you must listen to those who mod and admin this site... otherwise when you do something that they feel is wrong and they warn you, you would miss it and then get banned....

You wouldn't want that now.... would you? ;)

Calling an admin immature might be reason to be banned though... who knows... :sarcasm:

Then admins should refrain from taking pot shots at members. If they cannot be ignored, then a member should be able to PM them to please refrain from making any contact or making any comments to/about said members that are not modding-related.

Right, but the mods/admins are members and posters of this site just like the rest of us, so as long as they are not breaking the rules, it should be fine.

It is not like this is a paid job for them where they would be expected/required to have a more restrictive posting guidelines.

And if we can add them to ignore lists, I would agree. But if they can't be added then they should be held to a higher posting standard. If they want to have the freedoms of a regular member, they should stay regular members. But with power comes responsibility. I think as soon as someone accepts to be a mod they should hold themselves to a higher standard.

It's not going to happen but it would be nice if mods/admins could check a box before they post to indicate it's an official post. Then they could be added to an ignore list but those posts would still show.

Only in the forum they moderate.

That's not even followed.

Why does the software need to do the job for us? If there is a poster who bothers you then just don't read their posts. Why can't we use the ignore filter in our own brains to ignore certain posts.

It isn't like we need a V chip to protect the children from sarcastic posts.

Now see, i was at first troubled by this comment. I have sense decided my self-esteem can take the hit. I may be ready to lurk the Politics forum soon.

And no ignore feature was needed!

Alright. Maybe i need the feature.

A single tear is working its way down my cheek and smearing my mascara as I feel all my self-worth bleed out through the twelve point Times New Roman font on my screen mocking me. :(

edit: Son of a! I swear, i started listening to the Dave Matthews Band for the first time and now all my English skills went out the window. I may really cry now.*

*waterproof mascara though so that part was total hyperbole

Wow Deb, is it really that bad? We all make fun of each other around here, and if you added everyone that made fun of you to the ignore list you'd only see your own posts. ;)

I cannot see that a facility will be granted whereby you can ignore mods/admins using the Board software. Members have to be able to read posts made in an "official" capacity.

G/D, as you've kept this anonymous thus far I would respectfully ask that you please email or PM the admin in question with the URLs of the posts that you found offensive and why.

Doubtless whomsoever is involved will be able to reflect on what you have said and determine - maybe with reference to views of fellow moderators and/or the tone/content of posts they make to other members - whether they have crossed the line.

I am now closing this thread as the question has been addressed and a course of action proposed.
