Why aren't my images showing up?

I've never had a problem posting images until today. I started this thread this morning: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/tv-talk/539...9-18-08-a.html

I uploaded a picture to PicAttic and tried posting it (with the correct image tags, of course) in the original post. Nothing. Yet, for some reason, the pic showed up when I linked to it elsewhere.

Then, in post #15, I tried posting 3 images. This time I uploaded them to PicAttic and Imageshack. Still nothing.

I'm not sure why the images aren't showing up. I've posted/viewed on both Firefox and IE, getting the same result in each. [IMG] code is turned on. When I try to edit the posts, the correct image tags are there. I just checked the random image thread in Otter and I can see everything there (including other pictures hosted by Imageshack). When I put the direct link to the images in my browsers, they show up fine.

Is this just some random glitch? Could it be something on my end that's keeping the pics that I post from showing up? Or are my browsers just screwy and everyone can see the images but me?

Try this link

instead of

http://img213.imageshack.us/my.php?i...arlie01rm1.jpg

Tends to work better.

Like Palaver said you can't use the my.php url. The my.php images is a dynamic image, which is loading a webpage that displays the image instead of just loading an image. We don't allow dynamically displayed images here because that is a security risk.

Thanks, guys. I started a thread this morning and used another pic uploaded to ImageShack, only this time I used a non-.php link and it worked like a charm.

Is this "no .php" thing new to the site or is it ImageShack that has changed? I only ask because in many past threads I'd post pictures using ImageShack's "direct link to photo" (which is a .php image) with no problems.

Either way, thanks again for showing me the light.

It shouldn't be new, but the old version of vB was so old that it might be. It's a security hole if you have that allowed.
