Get rid of that search button that takes you to google

There are 2 search buttons, one that searches the forums the other search button takes you to google to either do what the button above does or let you search on google. If I want to go to google I will.

google's site search of dvdtalk.com is probably more reliable than the software search and doesn't burden the servers. it's actually the search method I prefer

Yep... Google is FAR better for the task than VBulletin.

Perhaps the one search button could be labled as such - "Google Search"

:o DOH! I never even noticed that search bar up there. I always used the one on the top line w/ the quick links, user cp, etc...

From my understanding, the reason for the google search was to lighten the server load. The old vb3.0 search was very server intensive, especially with the size of this board. At the time it was implemented, server load was a concern. The new search is much better, and server load is less of an issue.

So, in short... It could be removed easily, however, as it's been expressed here, there are still people who like using it.

I've never noticed that before. Or, if I did, I just assumed it would take you to the regular search page.

I'll definitely give it a shot from now on.

I never liked the Google search method. I think part of it is the lack of clear organization in the search results.
