There are ads?

Okay, I saw it and it is kind of disturbing. But my window is kept fairly small at work, and I know where the ads are, so I breeze right by. I don't think I've noticed an ad here since the pop-under silliness.

I could not help but to read that with the voice of the Adam Sandler character that asks the kids to play with themselves.

I do hate the ad. I see it on other sites too. It is strangely offensive.

That banner is a perk from DVDTalk joining "Internet Brands"!

I thought it was funny when I first saw the ad, but after this thread...

It's way worse today...they're on nearly every damn page.

Nice to see that after the sale, a complaint here for days has gone ignored.

I just uninstalled the flash plug in to make it go away.

Yep, every page, several times.

The show itself is annoying, so I suppose it's only fitting that the ads are also, but you can't avoid them by changing the channel.

Sweet Jesus. Time to adjust noScript options (til that crap advertisement dies a righteous death.)

I have multiple tabs open and it's on every page - twice. I have a reviews page open and it's on there three times. Does DVD Talk have no other ads in rotation at this time?

And what the hell? Does anyone actually think this is effective use of advertising dollars? I'm actually not going to tune into this show specifically because of this ad.

Looks like the ads are finally gone... Before (only maybe 30 minutes ago), I'd see them on every page and even 2 on each page.

Oh it's not gone. Just got it twice. Why do you people keep saying it's gone? No official word as come from anyone. I'm sure Geoff is getting tired of people bitching about ads.

I don't mind ads - I mind crappy (and kind of gross) Flash animations covering my window in three separate locations. It's simply NOT effective advertising, and the company that pays for it should be informed of that.

That said, I haven't seen them yet this morning, so yay!

What was this advertising? I remember the ad, but had no clue what it was for and didn't care enough to find out.

An obscure TV show that airs periodically on the cartoon network after 11pm.
