Unfair Closing of Thread in HD Talk

I posted a thread here http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=514526

From the beginning, people were obviously attempting to derail the thread to get it closed. They succeeded. I don't think its particurly fair for trolls to have their way in a thread..its obvious their goal was to attack me personally to get the thread closed.

Your thread had nothing new (Bill threads have been overkilled for a long time). And there was really nothing to discuss there.

I think he is still a member here as well.

Sorry Chanster but the topic was beaten to death by just about everyone back three months ago:

If a topic is locked in one thread, why do you think a barely modified derivative of it would pass muster when you decide to start things up again? The high definition forums are trying to become useful again and part of that means getting away from the endless trolling by supporters of either side. Let Bill live his life and feel free to go on his website to let him know how you feel about his stance (like presumably hundreds or thousands should have done by now).

 Beautifully said.

The DVDTalk forums are pretty much the only place online to have a sane discussion about High Def matters. It's better that the mods err on the side of caution to discourage sycophantic or inflammatory posts from occurring (not saying yours was, but it could be interpreted as flame bait).

I've had posts deleted that I don't think crossed the line, but I understand that it is for the greater good of preserving the utility of the forums. We don't want another AVS.
