Email notification not working
 

My email notification has not been working for the past couple of weeks. I believe it has something to do with a problem with my ISP's POP mail server. For about a week (maybe 3 weeks ago), the server was very slow and sometimes would not send the mail at all. I wonder if DVD Talk's system was getting error messages or something like that and stopped sending notifications.

I've tried changing my options back and forth from no email to email and nothing has worked.

Seems to be down or at least very slow this morning.

So am I the only one who hasn't gotten an email notification in almost 24 hours?

same here, I was looking forward to all my DVDtalk emails this morning, but nothing.

None here either. Maybe they weren't family friendly enough.

I'd expect IB to let us know what's going on, but it is close to the weekend after all. Maybe Monday.....

The e-mails I send through the review system aren't going through at all either, so it seems to be a server issue.

I think the email notifications were mean to some people so the mods turned it off. Just because you are a email doesn't mean you can be not so nice.

I don't know if it means it's fixed yet, but I received my first email notification today in almost a week a few minutes ago.

Thanks for all your comments here. We have indeed been having a problem with our outgoing mail server. There are a bunch of messages queued up, and it's working it's way through the queue, but it's taken it a few days to catch up. I'll check back in when I think we've resolved this.

Okay, that makes sense. I just lost my email notification for a few days too, now today it's back and I've gotten lots of messages, at one point 80 in one go. :lol:

I've received over 100 today. Hopefully we won't break the interweb.

The tubes were clogged on them there internets...

i don't get email notices unless i am signed into and actually on dvdtalk.

other places, all i need is to be signed in and i get all email notices.

Anyone else receiving hit or miss notices the past day or two?

The last 5 days have all started to come flooding back now.

Well it looks like this feature is broken.

Yep. Had been getting like 10 a day lately, then got 178 since last night.

Is it helpful to the site to bump these everytime it happens or are they aware already anyway?

If so, email notifications seem to be having issues again.

Don't seem to be receiving notices again.

Edit: For the first time since yesterday, just received two current ones since posting.
