10 Days Later (or: An Explanation)
 

This is where I got busted.

My feelings aren’t bruised or anything and I consider you one of my virtual buddies, I’m just trying to…well explain.

This is by no means a challenge to the rules. Nor do I want it to be taken in the spirit of “ha ha, I was breaking the rules.” I was honestly unaware of the no posting games rule. I saw this as more of a project, but honestly it was a game. I would have posted these at any time I’d happened to think of them, most of them made me laugh, but I was trying to strictly adhere to the pattern of the alphabet and the binary sequence of !!! / ?.
I thought some of these threads were fairly fun and the alphabetical thing turned out to serve as a creative writing tool more than anything. You were right about the Jack Spratt thread though. J is a tough letter. That was weak as hell.
Regarding the forum rules: I read them when I signed up (when E-Bay auctions were being posted: re-read them) and after that just kept my ear to the ground. For instance one day we could all cuss in the thread interior without reprimand. I waited a couple of days before cussing, but that was a great turn of events. I wasn’t trying to waste server space and I was genuinely trying to make the threads entertaining within the confines of my game. I started exactly two threads a day. I’m not trying to sound defensive here, I wanted to establish a pattern in order that it might be recognized.
I wanted to cap the game off a thread call “26 Days Later” unless someone caught the pattern. I didn’t expect it to end like this, but I respect this forum more than most I’ve ever seen. The game is over and I don’t intend to play anymore with Geoff’s site.

If posting this is going too far, please delete it. I am not espousing Posting Games, although I agree that that is what this was. Can I plead ignorance as a defense? It seemed fun and made sense to me at the time. I didn’t realize that this may have created problems.

I even thought a while about even posting this explanation. Mods, if this post is an affront, please just delete it.

You're discussing something that is related to a mod action taken with one of your threads. This probably belongs in Feedback.

My personal approach to moding is not to wield an iron fist, but if other members of the forum are reporting your posts, that's usually a sign that something is up. I'll leave it at that.

Edit to add - I've got nothing against you. I think your threads are generating a chuckle to say the least. I'm just doing my job. Geoff doesn't pay us* the big bucks for nothing. :D

You forgot

1. How annoying children are (in theaters, Logan's Steakhouses, airplanes, you name it) and how crappy parents are today.

2. Why you shouldn't own a pet, you cruel, animal abusing bastard (this goes for whether you shoot dogs, let your cat outside, or feed your cat any number of cat foods.)

3. Tasing, in all its glory.

4. Photochopping, or if you're more verbally creative, Captioning "this."

5. Advice, though if it is about parenting or pet ownership, be aware of topics 1 and 2.
