Maybe there should be a Book subforum in Comic Talk.

Just out of curiosity, would a Comic Talk sub-forum allow discussions on comic strips too? Or will we need to start a sub-sub-forum for that?

Oh, I like this idea! I'm much more into comic strips, but there's no good place to discuss them right now. We need a Mary Worth daily discussion sticky! :lol:

I would frequent a comic forum. And I love the book forum, just. that like reading a book, it takes a little more time. :shrug:

I disagree - "comic books" are a sub-genre of books - period - by definition.

Also, if comic books have more activity than books, then it is actually a sad statement of this group's feelings about books.

And this DOES come from a lifetime comic book collector.

On the possibility that it could increase traffic (since there's such an obvious stigma to being seen in a sub-forum! :wacko:), then I say we should go for it. I mean, would there be any downside, other than someone having to take a moment to recode something? It's not going change the size or spacing of the dropdown menus; merely the position (the first step in our clever scheme to take over the world). So yeah, who would be harmed by such a change?

Who reads books anymore? Make Books the sub-forum of Comic Books. The Comic Book forum should go next to the Anime forum in the dropdown menu, for maximum crossover appeal.

But seriously, if a forum has to go, or be made into a sub-forum to allow another child-forum to break free, I believe that IB will have the stats available to support any (de)selection decisions.

Clearly, though, even the most cosmetic of decisions should be properly thought through. It would be unfortunate if something that seemed relatively simple to implement might have all manner of unanticipated consequences.

I've submitted a tech request for Comic Book Talk to be placed right after Book Talk as its own forum, and also have it moved in all pulldowns.
