Just out of curiosity, would a Comic Talk sub-forum allow discussions on comic strips too? Or will we need to start a sub-sub-forum for that?

Hey! That'd make a great avatar!!!

I like the idea of a comic book subforum.

Any chance for this to happen?

That's exactly what I was going to say. EXACTLY!!! Weeellllll. I was going to say that the sub-forum would get more traffic than the forum. I like yours better. Succinct. Ya know. I would frequent a comic forum. And I love the book forum, just. that like reading a book, it takes a little more time. |
So did anyone decide whether this was going to happen?
|
I've got all my comic books lined up on the floor and I'm ready to talk!
(...do 'Highlights' count? I LOVE Goofus & Gallant! ) http://www.highlights.com/images/us/...Oct1980_lg.jpg -THEEK! |

Also, if comic books have more activity than books, then it is actually a sad statement of this group's feelings about books. And this DOES come from a lifetime comic book collector. |
Re: Request for a Comic Book Talk subforum
Can Comic Book Talk be moved out from under Book Talk, as Blu-ray Bargains was recently moved?
It's really more a sister than a daughter. |
Re: Request for a Comic Book Talk subforum
Anyone else care to weigh in?

Re: Request for a Comic Book Talk subforum
On the possibility that it could increase traffic (since there's such an obvious stigma to being seen in a sub-forum!), then I say we should go for it. I mean, would there be any downside, other than someone having to take a moment to recode something? It's not going change the size or spacing of the dropdown menus; merely the position (the first step in our clever scheme to take over the world). So yeah, who would be harmed by such a change?
DO IT! DO IT NOW!! |
Re: Request for a Comic Book Talk subforum
I support this move.
|
Re: Request for a Comic Book Talk subforum
I like it, seems like it could generate a bit more traffic and gain some additional attention.

Re: Request for a Comic Book Talk subforum
Who reads books anymore? Make Books the sub-forum of Comic Books. The Comic Book forum should go next to the Anime forum in the dropdown menu, for maximum crossover appeal.

Re: Request for a Comic Book Talk subforum
I agree with Trevor as well.

Re: Request for a Comic Book Talk subforum
I think if we do this, then one (or preferably more) of the other forums should go. The main page is full enough.

But seriously, if a forum has to go, or be made into a sub-forum to allow another child-forum to break free, I believe that IB will have the stats available to support any (de)selection decisions. Clearly, though, even the most cosmetic of decisions should be properly thought through. It would be unfortunate if something that seemed relatively simple to implement might have all manner of unanticipated consequences. |
Re: Request for a Comic Book Talk subforum
I support this move as I suspect it will increase viewership and participation in comic book talk.
|
Re: Request for a Comic Book Talk subforum
I support this.

Re: Request for a Comic Book Talk subforum
I think Comic Books should join the Religion/Politics forum. ;)
|
Re: Request for a Comic Book Talk subforum
I've submitted a tech request for Comic Book Talk to be placed right after Book Talk as its own forum, and also have it moved in all pulldowns.

Sign of the times?
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that * it is near, even gat the doors. Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled [...] Godly discussions shall be moved unto the Political Forum. And it shall come to pass that Comic Talk will be spewed forth from the bosom of its rightful parent, Book Talk, with nary a whimper... |
