If we do get our way, I sure hope we don't have DC and Marvel threads after threads. What about the little guy?

There will probably be a greater presence of indie threads because we'll then be able to devote a whole thread to a single indie title that would get lost as a singular post.

Casanova! Casanova! Casanova! Casanova!

(Seriously, it's a great book. If we get a sub-forum, I promise to start a thread about it).

Hey don't worry. Having a Subforum will make it easier to avoid them.

Stoney 11-03-06 12:21 PM

I'm all for it!

What would stop you or anyone else from starting as many Indie threads as you want to? As long as the audience is there it would perfect in the Subforum. Then you wouldn't have to hear about Metas and Mutants in your Indie thread.

I'd definitely love to see a comic talk sub-forum.

Regardless of the issue, it is quickly becoming a plague that hampers discussion by veering a thread off course.

If/when a Sequential Art subforum is created, maybe a couple of "one and only" threads can be created to good effect for such questions as shipping/subscription and best/worst (r)etailers/bargains etc.

Or someone could simply create and then maintain a FAQ thread based on past and ongoing questions....

Can it be a No Holds Barred comic book forum? -wink-

A bargain thread, a DCBS thread, an Absolutes thread...

It's a nice dream but I think all that's needed is just more separate comics threads, e.g. one for spider-man, x-men, etc.

Then the entire first page of Book Talk will be nothing but comic threads requiring a renaming anyway. ;)

Seeker 11-06-06 10:52 PM

Sounds good to me. It'll free up space in the heavily used book forum for other topics about books!

seriously - yeah - comic book subforum sounds cool.

Bronkster 11-07-06 01:15 PM

I'm fully in support for this idea. I have scanned through the monthly comic thread numerous times but never post because most of the discussion seems to be more about the various delivery services or whatnot. As a long-time comic collector I would love to be able geek out over a particular Spider-man incident!

Bring on the Cosmic Comic Sub-Forum!!

Maybe there should be a Book subforum in Comic Talk.

Just out of curiosity, would a Comic Talk sub-forum allow discussions on comic strips too? Or will we need to start a sub-sub-forum for that?

Oh, I like this idea! I'm much more into comic strips, but there's no good place to discuss them right now. We need a Mary Worth daily discussion sticky!

Braddok 11-11-06 07:58 PM

I'd like to see a comic sub-forum as well. Count me in

I like the idea of a comic book subforum.

Seconded.

Any chance for this to happen?
