explicit listings?
I was shocked to see such titles listed as "Fu**" when looking at new releases on DVD. Children can acess this site. I am new to verizon yahoo and my old Yahoo page never displayed Porn titles! This is a disgrace and I'm going to complain to verizon!

Well this site does review regular films as well as adult titles. If you want to search specifically for 'normal' titles, just use the drop down menu and select DVD Reviews. That will bring up only the 'normal' DVD reviews, as opposed to the adult titles. This is a DVD site, and we review anything DVD. Complaining to Verizon won't do anything, as they're not responsible for content on the web. If there was anybody to blame, it would probably actually be you, as you're the parent and you're supposed to keep a close eye on what your children are viewing on the net. Parents like you are the ones always looking for a scapegoat instead of doing what YOU can to keep your kids safe. Just because you're ignorant about the way something works, you can't start pointing your finger. You're looking for a service that will completely block anything bad from the internet for you? Dream on. The net is a very large, diverse, and even dangerous place... much like the real world. Besides, if your kid doesn't see that kind of language here, then they'll hear it in school, or on any other site on the web! Also, in our adult reviews, we provide NO explicit pictures. About the 'bad language' though, I'm sorry you've never had a proper introduction to the real world.

I think she's talking about the DVD Talk module you can select for your My Yahoo page -- it lists new releases as a news item on your home page. I have it and have never noticed adult titles listed there, but it's possible, I suppose. Complaining to Verizon, or any service provider, will have no effect, of course.

Any child young enough to have never heard the word fuck has no business playing unattended on the internet. If you're worried about your own kids, I'd suggest not letting them get online. If you're worried about other people's kids, I'd suggest you realize that it's really none of your business what types of language they see or hear.

If you are ofended by adult content, you can acess the mainstream DVD reviews directly at: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/list....Type=DVD+Video
We NEVER link from Yahoo direct to any adult content. |
Man, would I hate to be the Verizon rep on the other end of *that* call. :)

I kinda hate being the DVDTalk poster on the end of this one.

It's also important to point out that our coverage of adult titles are not meant to be salacious. We don't include any screen shots from adult DVDs that include sex. We provide a valuable service for adults by reviewing their choices in adult entertainment.
Also a child can find more porn by going to that same page we're found on at yahoo and typing "Sex" into the search box thank you'd ever find here. Furthermore, I always have a distain for a complaint about ofensive content if it also doesn't include the mountain of horror films and images we have on our site. The press kit I got for Rest Stop was filled with pictures of slaughtered people. For my money, there's no fucking way I'd let my kids surf the internet on their own. It's a parent's responsibility to ensure their kids aren't exposed to what the parent deams as objectionable. NOT a web site which is clearly aimed at adults to try to keep people away from reading it. |

Why won't the government think of the children ? |
Ahem, you are neglecting this websites responsibility to provide me with explicit screenshots in my reviews. ;)
I bet if it was a poll more people would want my petition more than the OP's idea. |
In my day, we had to learn about sex the hard way-from Uncle Ralph.
