Request a Sub-Forum Sub-Forum

Groucho had a brilliant idea in another feedback thread of making a request a subforum sub-forum since we get so many requests for sub-forums for whatever topic. I actually wandered into Feedback to make such a request, so I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone and compile a short list of some of the sub-forum requests that have already been made and add one and just provide a thread for people to add their ideas. Not that this forum is so ultra busy, but whatever. We got a Politics forum and a Sports forum and even a Poker forum. We also get the occasional temporary forum for when a hot new movie is coming out... so why not any of these?

Religion Sub-Forum (much like Politics, this might be a way to keep Other from getting too heavy)

Cars Sub-Forum (Alot of people love car discussions and it's not that they are taking over Other, it's just that having a separate place will get people to start more threads and such - might be fun)

Food & Fitness Sub-Forum (could be a place for dieters and work-out tips and cooking recipes and restaurant comments)

Star Wars 3 Sub Forum (with the film coming out soon and SW such a heated topic, we're probably gonna need this soon as the date approaches)

Anime Sub-Forum (someone requested it)

With some many tv shows released on dvd how about a tv-on-dvd sub-forum.

Edit: I just checked out DVD Talk and TV forums and counted at least 6 threads about tv shows on dvd on the first page.

I think all these sub-forums would start to suck the life out of Other.

Religion would just encourage more hot topic threads that lead to animosity between members that will spill into other forum areas.

I'd love a food and fitness forum, but the few fitness threads that have been posted were short lived.

Cars just seems too off topic, at least all the subforums we have now are based on some form of entertainment or deals on related items.

SW3 subforum is coming soon according to Geoff.

Anime would be ok if there's enough interest, as would TV on DVD.

Yeah, I don't see the need to compartmentalize every rogue topic that comes across Other every once in a while. These things tend to come in waves, and creating a subforum for them would just cause confusion.

I like the idea for a "TV on DVD" sub-forum. Put it in DVD-Talk, but be sure to put a linky to the new sub-forum in TV-Talk, too.

I'd like to have an "I hate Trigger" subforum. The volume of those threads is pushing all the other topics off the first page too quickly.

Has there been any serious thought to a tv on dvd sub forum?
