Main page anti-virus alert

While entering the main page (http://www.dvdtalk.com) my Kaspersky Anti-virus alerts of a dangerous script containing malicious code. Amongst other things, Exploit.HTML.CodeBaseExec and Backdoor.Win32.Agent.pa. No idea if it's a valid alert or not.

I suspect it must have been the right commercial banner because that's what KAV blocked.

No idea what was up with the main page. Seems fixed now. I'll keep my eye on it.

The same thing just happened to me a few minutes ago.

Yes, now I got it again, KAV reported some other script attack now, Exploit.JS.CVE-2006-1359.m. I'd recommend people get warned of this, wouldn't be nice to have this unknowingly on your PC.

Something on the main page seemed to crash my computer just about 20 mins ago. I went to see if I got any AV messages, got distracted by work and 5 minutes later, system shutdown.

I've been having serious slowdowns whenever I open firefox today. I thought it was my computer but found no problems with any scans. I thought it was firefox, but it didn't improve when I updated, then reinstalled the program. However, DVDtalk's main page is one of the tabs that opens automatically as one of my homepages, behind my main page. When I closed that tab, everything started running like clockwork again. Grrrrrr....

Something is going on with that page.

*sighs* guess it's time to disable javascript here again.

I had this pop-up at work today.

GeoffK 04-14-06 10:38 PM

We're working on the source of the hack. So far every time we think we've got it squashed it comes back up. As of right now it's been removed.

AVG picked it up on my pc, but nortons didn't.

I think we've sleuthed it out. It blows me away how people can do this kind of shit to sites. I don't think they realize is all they are doing is hurting people, me especially and taking away time I have to spend with my wife and kids.

I spent all Friday night working on this vs. living my life... Nice of someone out there to do this to me. I mean afterall ALL I do is run a site to help people what to watch on DVD... That MUST be enough reason to hack our site... right!?!/ uGH

Although it's been said countless times before, thanks for everything you do to keep this site running, Geoff. Hope you had a nice Easter weekend regardless.
