We are talking about what comes up in the upper left hand corner right? I didn't think the random review selection included adult titles. Atleast, I've never seen anything there that struck me as an adult title but I have to admit I don't really pay that much attention to the reviews (unless I'm specifically looking for a title).
I'm not entirely sure how it works but I believe those that come up randomly are selected from the list here http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/index.php Perhaps, if hi_mom (or others) will indulge us by informing us what is "pornographic" it may help everyone understand the complaint a little better.

hi_mom,
If you're going to try to stick out from the crowd you could at least fake a suicide or something.

i was new to the forum, i was looking around, i no longer visit the adult forum.
Stop searching thru my past posts, trying to troll me, its the oldest and lamest internet forum trick in the book.
Instead, how about(gasp!), try contributing to the immediate discussion about pornography by contributing something constructive.

And one for "Suicide Girls: The First Tour DVD Giveaway" which is a porn site. That's probably what hi mom means.
thanks, another good example, this is exactly what i mean.

But, that is up to Geoff to decide if it is legitimate in his eyes.

I think the adult reviews are where they need to be. They are not promoted on the main page. And kids are in no way aroused by reading a review of porn. An adult review with one small boxshot will not corrupt any child on the planet.
You could make DVD File your new home. They update bi-annually and neither update is porn. Oooooooooo, I'm nasty!

I also don't share your moral views hi mom. Like other have said before, if this kind of thing bothers you, there are other places you can go to surf. If you want to police your children that's your right but if you want to police the Internet you're waging a no-win battle.
There are plenty of filter programs available and if you wanted to get really extreme, you can just unplug the power cord to the computer and hide it until you can be with your kids while they surf the net.

If you want a constructive comment, here's one. If you find pornography offensive, and this site does contain pornography, then simply do not visit this site. Rather than change a site to suit your needs. If I found a site offensive I would not continue to go there. No one is forcing you to click a link, and if you're worried that your children will do so then do not let them visit this site. The solution is really quite simple.

hi_mom -- we've actually had several discussions about this, and Geoff has been pretty clear about his position.
Sometimes someone will complain about 'risque' content in the main forum, or links/ads for adult stuff. "But I'm at work". "But my kids/family may walk by and see". Etc. (I've been one of the complainers once or twice.)
Geoff has been clear -- if Amazon sells it (i.e. - Playboy DVDs), it is considered mainstream and can be covered on the main site. There is also an adult forum for more hardcore stuff. And, after a certain hour of the evening, there are 'adult' ads (with no nudity) for XXX material and sex toys everywhere.
I personally wish that there was less of this on the site, but... it ain't my site. I just had to accept this and not be here when at work, or when kids may see. You honestly have to either accept what this site is or go somewhere else. The Internet is a big place, and there are probably other sites out there that discuss DVDs (or whatever) and also better reflect your personal sense of morality.
