We are talking about what comes up in the upper left hand corner right? I didn't think the random review selection included adult titles. I'm not entirely sure how it works but I believe those that come up randomly are selected from the list here http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/index.php Perhaps, if hi_mom (or others) will indulge us by informing us what is "pornographic" it may help everyone understand the complaint a little better.

That's true. It has something to do with talking... about DVDs.

Ma'am, it's dishonest to post using your kid's account. I think you owe us all an apology.

Yet you have no problem posting that Jessica Simpson is the hotter Daisy Duke. Hmmm, what did you think you were going into when you clicked that thread?

Or that Buford should use the "masturbation method" to get over his Whopper addiction.

hi_mom,

If you're going to try to stick out from the crowd you could at least fake a suicide or something.

yes, perhaps your argument would carry more weight if you didn't participate in threads in the adult talk forum.

Odd then that you have visited the Adult forum and posted in the battle of the babes thread. If you find pornography offensive then you shouldn't of ever went into that section of the forum, much less partake in a thread there...

There are plenty of links for porn reviews on the main dvdtalk page. Right now there is a link for "The Blue Room: Kill Girl Kill 2, Burning Angel and More" which are porn movies and if you click on the picture it takes you to a page with nudity on it. And one for "Suicide Girls: The First Tour DVD Giveaway" which is a porn site. That's probably what hi mom means.

i was new to the forum, i was looking around, i no longer visit the adult forum.

Stop searching thru my past posts, trying to troll me, its the oldest and lamest internet forum trick in the book.
Instead, how about(gasp!), try contributing to the immediate discussion about pornography by contributing something constructive.

Guess I don't see that as a big deal. The complaint is that the Porn is in places she would rather it wasn't, not that there was any porn at all. If she chooses to go into the Adult Forum, it is entirely different than roaming the rest of the site and having it.

But, that is up to Geoff to decide if it is legitimate in his eyes.

Ok, constructive... fine. I agree in part that Suicide Girls should not have such prominent placement on the main site. But that's not a decision for any of us except for Geoff to make.

I think the adult reviews are where they need to be. They are not promoted on the main page. And kids are in no way aroused by reading a review of porn. An adult review with one small boxshot will not corrupt any child on the planet.

You could make DVD File your new home. They update bi-annually and neither update is porn. Oooooooooo, I'm nasty!

Oh MAIN page I thought we were talking about something related to the forum (aka the main forum page). Anything on the main page is completely up to Geoff AFAIK, I can't help you there. If there's anything in the forums though please report it to the mods as everything should be in the Adult subforum.

Wow, if I'm ever on the stand being tried for murder, I'll try to remember to use the n00b defense.

I also don't share your moral views hi mom. Like other have said before, if this kind of thing bothers you, there are other places you can go to surf. If you want to police your children that's your right but if you want to police the Internet you're waging a no-win battle.

There are plenty of filter programs available and if you wanted to get really extreme, you can just unplug the power cord to the computer and hide it until you can be with your kids while they surf the net.

So you just recently find pornography offensive then? Surely you had to determine the type of material you would find when entering a forum labeled "Adult".

If you want a constructive comment, here's one. If you find pornography offensive, and this site does contain pornography, then simply do not visit this site. Rather than change a site to suit your needs. If I found a site offensive I would not continue to go there. No one is forcing you to click a link, and if you're worried that your children will do so then do not let them visit this site. The solution is really quite simple.

Alright, I retract my earlier accusation. Use of the word "lamest" or any derivation of the term "lame" indicates you are more likely the child than the parent. So tell us, why all of a sudden are you starting this crusade to rid DVDTalk of pornography (or should I say, teh pr0n)?

hi_mom -- we've actually had several discussions about this, and Geoff has been pretty clear about his position.

Sometimes someone will complain about 'risque' content in the main forum, or links/ads for adult stuff. "But I'm at work". "But my kids/family may walk by and see". Etc. (I've been one of the complainers once or twice.)

Geoff has been clear -- if Amazon sells it (i.e. - Playboy DVDs), it is considered mainstream and can be covered on the main site. There is also an adult forum for more hardcore stuff. And, after a certain hour of the evening, there are 'adult' ads (with no nudity) for XXX material and sex toys everywhere.

I personally wish that there was less of this on the site, but... it ain't my site. I just had to accept this and not be here when at work, or when kids may see. You honestly have to either accept what this site is or go somewhere else. The Internet is a big place, and there are probably other sites out there that discuss DVDs (or whatever) and also better reflect your personal sense of morality.
